To me, the writing in Engage makes it worse than either of the others. Same for Three Hopes to a lesser degree, so it’s Three Houses for me.
I do think a remake would be good, for fans like me at least. I won’t use an emulator, so I’ll never have access to the original Genealogy. If they remade it I’d love to try it, there’s just that language barrier stopping me from experiencing the original one.
It is true that it’s not the same world, nor does it have the same deity. It’s probably more accurate to compare it to pagan religions to find a close real-world comparison to what the morals would be
No worries 👍 my overall point was just that regardless of a few mistranslations in the Bible, they rly don’t change the overall meaning.
If that passage is referring to pedophilia, there’s still other passages that reference homosexuality. If it is referring to homosexuality, there’s still plenty of passages that push against pedophilia.
@Dionysus01 No, I wouldn’t say that at all. I would argue that pedophilia falls under sexual immorality, which is heavily condemned throughout the Bible.
Either Robin or Byleth, but I’ll say Robin bc of the higher level of personality growth he/she gets.
Byleth mostly just gets flavor benefits from me, he/she is just rly cool with the backstory and the creator sword and such. Personality lacks a lot though.
@Ttoku don’t worry about it, there’s a lot of misunderstandings around the Bible and translation and such. Part of the issue is simply that given how different languages are, there can basically never be a perfect translation and because of that, it’s also hard sometimes for people to see where it’s correct and where it isn’t. That said, where there are translation issues, it’s typically pretty minor and doesn’t affect the overall message of the Bible in any way. I don’t believe there are any issues with that passage like that, but even if there are, there’s other passages like I just showed that say the same thing.
Anyways, I took some classes in college that discuss translations like that so I probably have a bit more knowledge on that than most, so I try to help clear up misunderstandings like that wherever I can.
Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m not using it to be prejudiced or any of the like. Just because I don’t agree with someone’s choices/actions doesn’t mean that I view them as lesser or not human or something, as tends to be the assumption. For me, it’s no different than someone choosing to have a different set of morals; I don’t agree to it, but that doesn’t mean I see them as lesser.
Anyways I just wanted to make sure you didn’t misunderstand me on that. I agree with you about Rosado though.
Hey, for me I don’t find it cringe, but besides it’s hard for me to let misinformation by especially when it pertains to my religion. I don’t want people to misunderstand it after all 🤷♂️
(it is kinda off-topic at this point though lol)
@Ttoku I’m sorry, but I feel that I have to correct this statement. The Bible does in fact state that homosexuality is wrong. Take Leviticus 18:22 for instance:
”You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.”
1 Corinthians 6:9–10: Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Timothy 1:8–11: But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.
Awakening is my favorite over all the others, also the GBA ones just don’t strike me as quite as interesting as the later games. I like the character interaction we got with increased numbers of supports
I haven’t even felt compelled to try Engage. Like I’m a huge fire emblem fan, but I’m so scared that they used the older characters to get people to buy it without actually making as good original characters. It’s just hard to want to play it when such a big part of the games is the characters and it feels likely that they won’t be as likeable
I have the right to take my opinion, and personally I much prefer the classic fire emblem feel to Warriors. Warriors takes way too long for a busy life while also being a heavy action game that’s attempting to be strategy but doesn’t rly end up feeling a lot like it. As a strategy gamer I just don’t enjoy warriors very much.
Well, Fates would be incredibly difficult since there are so many different paths to take, you’d have to make four different paths to take in the sequel too or pick a route to be canon.
I’m never gonna what a sequel to a warriors game though, they’re never as good as actual Fire Emblem games so I’ll take a non-warriors title over a warriors game any day.
So Fates, even though it would be rly hard lol
@Ttoku Perhaps, but that raises other questions too. It’s hard to imagine two different people creating fell dragons, so then does that mean that Grima’s creator made two dragons? And if that’s the case, how did it get from Awakening to here?
Honestly, I was disappointed by the announcement. It doesn’t feel like they’ve done much new with the game, instead it feels like they’re using a lot of cop outs. The whole thing with summoning heroes from other worlds has never been a part of the mainstream games, at least their story. There’ve been features to let you use them, but it was never incorporated into the story. Now it feels like they’re summoning Marth and everyone else to avoid having to make as many new characters. Not to mention the inclusion of Grima, which makes absolutely no sense since he’s from the world of Awakening and this doesn’t seem to be that world, plus the version shown in the trailer just straight up doesn’t look anything like Grima.
I’ll still probably buy the game and try it just to say I did, but at this point I’m not all that excited for it.
Why are y’all saying Hitler?? She wasn’t nearly on the level of Hitler, even if you do consider her evil. It’s much more likely she would turn against him if they met.
Actually I would say some sort of great conqueror, but not one who went that far. So maybe someone like Alexander the Great or one of the Caesars of Rome.
Honestly I like to use it most on armored units to make them able to move further, it lets a stronger unit who’s supposed to be slower for balancing purposes just be broken.
Atheism is the belief that gods don’t exist, so I wouldn’t say that she’s atheist. A better term would be anti-religion, although even that isn’t accurate since she’s not against religion, just the Church of Seiros. I think that her opposition to the church is more political than religious, so it’s hard to define her by a religion-based term like that.
