Like, do I need to know anything about Fire Emblem to play Three Houses?
(If the story is a series)
I think it’s safe to say that three houses will take place in an entirely new world and will have a whole new story. No need to play any previous entry’s for the sake of the story.
If you’ve never played a fire emblem game before you might want to try a game like sacred stones ( FE 8 ) to familiarize yourself with the basic mechanics in fire emblem so it won’t all be new to you. Sacred Stones is a stand alone game and not connected to any other game in the series and it’s relatively short compared to other fire emblem games.
I’d say no, most Fire Emblem games are standalones that don’t really need other games for you to understand the story
Since FETH isn't out yet, then we don't know. But most Fire Emblem games don't require you to play previous games to understand the story, although you could play Shadow Dragon, Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, and/or Mystery of the Emblem to understand Awakening better (believe me, I started with Awakening when I first played FE). Or you can use Smash Bros to understand some characters by reading their backstories or something like that (which you can find in tips because sometimes it explains about the character in their original game). Not sure if FETH will reference previous FE games/make it so you have had to play other games to understand, but most likely not.
I’ve been following the news about 3 houses very closely... I’m very certain it’s not connected to any of the other games
I'm pretty sure it won't be connected to other games either like most other games.
I think you should play a "little" bit of path of radiance since it is I guess helpful for a new fire emblem player and I describes most of the game mechanics and elements. good luck out there!
What do you think?
