I just started the game and I need tips like which units are good and which levels to warp skip
(PS. Marth is bad) Several good units that are apparent at the early game are: Jagen, he becomes more critical at the early game the higher the difficulty is and still remains useful at the mid game (Reclass into Dracoknight when able to). Caeda, when forging her Wing spear with +4-6, this will enable her to one shot Armor knights and Cavs, the most common enemies and those most common types of bosses which makes her the best boss killer (promote her ASAP). Barst, he starts good at the early game and end he becomes a monster at the late game. Wolf and Sedgar, if you want to take your time to raise these two, Sedgar into a General and Wolf into a Hero, they will snowball quickly because of their absurdly high growths (Yes they grow out of there terrible bases). Cain, Abel and Hardin, they all join early with nice bases(Though Cain has an E at Lances which does sucks, stopping him from using Javalins.) with the growths they need as a growth unit, Hardin does have a Poor HP growth, 50% if I recall (Reclass them all to Dracoknight when you promote them). Xane, Copy your best unit out of 10. Tiki and Nagi, uhh awesome Manakete and Medeus killer, pretty good at base. (Be wary of Tiki's base HP.) Beck and Jake, infinite long range siege tomes out of 10 (use both of them) Merric, he may have a personal magic of 0, but he makes up with it with an early joining time and he can use Excalibur with an E, which is effective against Flyers and hits like a truck, he can double in H1 with enough levels. Wendell, really good bases, 12 base speed as a mage is crazy, you could reclass him into a swordsmaster to use the levin sword with a magic of 5 while doubling, pretty nice, but he can reclass into many other classes and integrate himself well, on H5 when Brave weapons show, he can be 1 rounded, so be careful. Minerva, likely the only user who has the A rank axe, and with her 12 speed in H1, she doubles, what sucks for her is her D in Lances which prevents her from using the Ridersbane. Lena, Warp staff out of 10 (also really good Staff rank and is only unit who can use Hammerine.) Elice, at base she can use Alm, resurrect someone who died. If you're doing H5, Castor and Gordin are good early game chip damage users who does it reliably. Jeorge is really the evolution of Gordin and Castor, but he isn't godly. Also I hate Jullian, use Rickard (Doesn't really matter).
Spot on my dude ^
I have a feeling someone watched Mangs LP
I just dont get why people say that marth isb ad lol
He’s locked to swords, he’s footlocked, he can’t reclass, he can’t promote, tiki/Nagi do a better job of dealing with the final boss than he does ( he gets one rounded on H5 even if Marth has CAPPED stats) . His rapier is also the least effective-effective weapon, if that makes sense. Also once you don’t fight as many axe users Marth gets weapon triangled by most enemies and it’s just a pain to feed him kills on higher difficulties. There’s not much point in actually training him.
He’s honestly worse than Roy if you ask me.
I get all of that, BUT effective damage is really good in this game, and even though the rapier is not that storng, you can just forg eit. He might not be the best, but in my experience the rapier alone makes him worth using. Also, he supports like everyone and doesnt waste a master seal
Effective damage is nice but your gold is better spent on things like the wingspear, hammers, ridersbanes... literally anything. It can be decent early game against generic Cavs but it pales in comparison to people like Sheeda with a forged wingspear or just about anyone with an effective weapon , Master seals arnt so uncommon that not being able to promote is a bonus- it’s a bane imo.
Marth spends a lot of time looting chests, going to villages, and recruiting characters so he doesn’t get to fight much and he’s not that great, even with a raiper, you have to forge it up a lot higher bc it has low base MT, and he faces weapon triangle disadvantage on almost all enemy’s, compared to any other effective weapon - it costs more to use and only marth can use it so it’s not like a ridersbane that you can trade around and kill a squad of cavs with. Marth doesnt really get into one shot territory unless you forge up his rapier a ridiculous amount.
Ill admit Marth can be decent and even seem good on lower difficulty’s but he’s not gonna one shot enemy’s on H5 like Caeda , Jagan, Barst, your cavs would do.
I hope this is coherent enough to make sense 😂, I stared typing this while eating at a restaurant and was distracted
Sure, he won't one shot on H5, that's correct. But i don't know if that's enough to be considered bad. For a lot of the early-mid game, you don't have that many effective weapons and you don't really gain anything from forging up other weapons, so i find that usually there is some time where you can forge a +5 rapier or something and don't lose anything from it. And i mean, what is somebody like Bord or Vyland really going to do? If there are that worthless units, Marth dealing very heavy damage with the rapier against like 80% of enemies should at least bump him up to an average unit. I don't have that much experience with shadow dragon, i played it once on h3 and once on h5, but i remember marth being pretty decent, though obviosly not on par with Caeda, Jagen, Cain or Abel. I also killed Medeus with him both times, this is effectlively mandatory i think if you don't want to use the aum staff trick
To be fair- Marth isn’t the worst of the worst but at best he’s only decent , he I can’t call him good. The first thing that should be forged is an wingspear, then the ridersbane you get, then a hammer... when does the rapier come in exactly?
Also not being able to once shot defeats the purpose of effective weaponry, you don’t want to take a counter. The only thing going for Marth is an “effective” weapon that needs to be forged up so much more than any other effective weapon so you could maybe do what Caeda or any other unit could with a much less expensive forge. Marth also tends to lag behind since he spends a lot of time hustling to villages and then the throne, there’s no real point in training him on H3 or above. He’s not mandatory for Medeus at all. Nagi or tiki do the trick fine, and the aum staff trick is very effective. I’m not sure why your saying it’s a bad use of it.
Could you guys write less? I have to read EVERYTHING lmao
okay then i'll just conclude with that i agree with marth only being kinda decent, i just don't find him bad
What do you think?
