A Clash of Forces is the ninth chapter of Fire Emblem Engage.
Story[]
Alear and Diamant take up positions in the rear guard as Morion without Roy faces the Elusian army with his forces. Hyacinth and Morion fight with Morion having the upper hand. Hyacinth then calls on the Ring of the Lady of the Plains to take Morion out. He mentions that Sombron isn't revived but will with sovereign blood. Two underlings drag the king's body away while Ivy is told to remain on the front lines to buy time. Ivy takes Hyacinth's words as either get back the Ring of the Sage Lord or die.
After Ivy is defeated, she asks the group to kill her. Alear refuses since Hyacinth abandoned her. As payment Ivy tells the army that Morion is being taken to the Destinea Cathedral to be sacrificed to Sombron. She then leaves with her retainers refusing to join a side for the time being. As the army leaves, they run into Veyle who directs them to the Cathedral. She also is drawn to Alear's emblem ring but snaps out of it before leaving.

The Ring of the Young Lion and Ring of the Sage Lord gives four new special Bond Rings.
- Lilina - Raging Fire increases damage by Fire, Elfire, and Bolganone tomes by 20% which is more damage in general.
- Dieck - Strong Arm gives Hit+20 when the user is equipped with a Smash Weapon. Given that Smash Weapons are now available, such as Lapis who came with one, this can help make full usage of this type of weapon.
- Finn - Miracle can allow the user to survive an otherwise lethal hit if it activates based on %=Luck. It is somewhat unreliable, but in a pinch is can save a unit, especially on higher difficulties where Draconic Time Crystal usage is limited.
- Olwen - Dire Thunder empowers only the base Thunder by letting it attack like a Brave Weapon. This is one of the strongest Bond Rings in the game due to the fact that Thunder tome's strike up to 3 Range, giving even the slowest of mages both safety and solid damage output.
