Talk to Anna and if the player has any Trade Secret items, she will take them. Alternatively, the quest will automatically complete upon the start of a free day if it was previously accepted while Exploring and the player has obtained the amount of Trade Secrets required.
In auxiliary battles against generic enemies, three Trade Secrets will be available, with only one dropped upon defeat (the other two must be stolen). In auxiliary battles against monsters, two of the four monsters will drop Trade Secrets, so if the player does not have access to stealing fighting against monsters is more efficient.
Trade Secrets will only spawn if this quest is accepted and not completed, but the player is able to acquire more than the required amount while the quest is still active. In this case, the surplus will be stored in the convoy, and can be used towards the quest in the next month.
For example, with three Battle activity points, the player can obtain up to nine Trade Secrets on a given free day through auxiliary battles. If Anna requires four Trade Secrets for the quest, then on the following free day, the player will (automatically) turn in the quest and four Trade Secrets, but will still have five Trade Secrets remaining in their inventory that can be used for the next month's "A Peculiar Trend".
