Aegir, located along the eastern coast of the Adrestian Empire, is the domain of House Aegir.

Profile[]

House Aegir, which holds the rank of duke, is one of the most powerful noble families in the Adrestian Empire, second only to the royal family of House Hresvelg. At some point, a head of the house gained the position of prime minister of the Empire, and the title became hereditary from then on.

Aegir lands are located on the eastern seaboard that faces the inland Pearl Sea. Its capital, Boramas, is a fine port equal to Enbarr, as well as a bustling hub that trades with lands to the east, including Morfis, Metropolis of Magic.

In addition to robust fishing and agriculture industries, Aegir is also known for abundant import goods and crafts utilizing technology from the east.

In Imperial Year 1171, the latest Duke Aegir Ludwig masterminded a soft coup against Emperor Ionius IX called the Insurrection of the Seven. The emperor was stripped of almost all of his power, rendering him a figurehead, while Ludwig became the true authority behind the throne and effectively ruled the Empire in his capacity as prime minister, working with Those Who Slither in the Dark to perform experiments on the emperor's children.

After assuming the title of Adrestian Emperor, Edelgard strips Ludwig and House Aegir of their power, placing the former in house arrest and restoring the emperor's power.

After the war, Ludwig's son Ferdinand assumes the title of Duke Aegir, and in most Crimson Flower endings is appointed prime minister by Edelgard, or given the opportunity to assist in the government in the corresponding endings of other routes.
