—Alva
Alva is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. He is a twenty-year old knight of Leonster, and is best friends with Cain. As with Robert and Cain, he has no speaking lines in the game, but he is described as a bright and cheerful character according to his description on the official website of Thracia 776 [1], and in contrast to his friend Cain, who is more brooding and taciturn. This is supported by his ending, which states that when he went to Southern Thracia to restore public order, he eventually won over the people there, who had initially viewed him with distrust, by his good-will and affability.

Overview
Alva has good speed growth, and very high luck growth. His other stat growths are pretty much average. A strange oddity about Alva is that he has a higher weapon rank in Swords when Lance Knights can only use that weapon type dismounted.
Alva has quite a number of disadvantages in the game; he starts at a low level with extremely low weapon ranks, zero skills, pc, or Movement Stars, with low base stats roughly equal to Carrion two chapters earlier.
Alva supports with Selfina, and Glade, but not Cain, despite their friendship.
Alva has a D rank in Swords higher then his E-Rank in Lances, but unfortunately as a Lance Knight Alva can not use swords whatsoever on horseback unlike Cavaliers such as Carrion, he will have to Dismount and take stat losses to use swords. Juggling Lances only while mounted, and Swords while dismounted will make gaining higher weapon ranks hard for Alva, particularly as weapon exp is gained slowly in Thracia 776.
However, Alva is still usable as a filler unit when your units are Fatigued. If the player wants to use Alva, its recommended to give him a skill manual of some sort.

Alva - Lance Knight of Leonster (レンスターの槍騎士 Rensutā no yari kishi)
Alva requested a post in Southern Thracia, and under Altena's leadership, worked to restore the area's public order. At first he was looked down upon by the people as a "northerner," but his good-willed nature soon earned him trust and respect.
Etymology
Alva is an unisex name, the masculine version is a variant of the Hebrew Alvah, meaning "your highness".
Trivia
- Alva shares the same name with a paladin of Genealogy of the Holy war.
- Fans often considered Cain and Alva to be the Cain and Abel archetype of Thracia 776. However in the Archanea Chronicle, neither of them is mentioned in the official list of characters in the Cain and Abel archetype, indicating Intelligent System doesn't officially count them as part of the Archetype.
