The Apostle is the religious leader in Tellius, who usually holds power as the leader of Begnion as well. The apostle and the senate decide what happens in Begnion. During the time of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Sanaki is considered the apostle, but she is not the first daughter of her family, so she is just the Empress, which is considered a separate title. The apostle can hear the voice of The Goddess, which is why she is the spiritual leader. Sanaki had been lead to believe she was too young to here the voice of the goddess, so she never doubted whether or not she was the true apostle until Vice-Minister Lekain, Duke of Gaddos, told her the truth: That she was not the first-born daughter of the former apostle Misaha, who the senate had assassinated to spark the Serenes Massacre, and that she had an older sister that was the true Apostle of Begnion, who was revealed to be Micaiah.
