The Arcanist is an enemy-exclusive combat magical class introduced in Fire Emblem Gaiden. It later appears in TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga and the remake of Gaiden.
History in the series[]
In its original inception in Gaiden, Arcanists are enemy-only mages who use Black and White Magic for the purpose of combat. Arcanists use the same battle and map animations as the Bishop class of Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, which didn't appear in Gaiden.
Arcanists reappear in TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga, again as an enemy only class. Unlike other magic users, Arcanists are only able to use Dark magic tomes, but have some of the highest stats among the magic classes, only falling below the personal classes, Diabolist and Leda Princess.
