Arundel, located in the north of the Adrestian Empire along the border with the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, is the domain of House Arundel.
Profile
House Arundel is a minor and recently elevated noble family of the Empire. Volkhard, the head of the family, was granted the title of Lord Arundel after his younger sister, Anselma, was betrothed to Emperor Ionius IX. At a certain point in time, Volkhard suddenly stopped making donations to the church, even though he was a very devout believer for a long time as well as drastically changing his attitude. Volkhard worked closely with Duke Aegir and became one of the chief instigators of the Insurrection of the Seven in Imperial Year 1171. Volkhard, Anselma, and her daughter Princess Edelgard left the Empire for the city of Fhirdiad in the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus during the upheaval. Anselma eventually married King Lambert of Faerghus under the name Patricia, while Volkhard and his niece returned to the Empire in 1174. By 1180, Volkhard held the title of Regent for the Empire.
