Askr is a character in Fire Emblem Heroes, properly introduced in Book VI. He is the god of connections and strong bonds, and the legendary dragon of the Kingdom of Askr. His daughter and retainer is Ash.

Profile[]

Askr and Líf, the first king of Askr, once worked with the Emblian Empire to open and close gates to other worlds. Many years later, when Embla launches her plan to end Askr's bloodline, Askr sends his retainer Ash to defend the people of Midgard.

As Bruno suffers from Embla's possession, Askr purges her influence from the prince and rescues the Order of Heroes; while it did cost some of his power, which was already lacking when he entered Embla's realm, it was enough to stave off Embla for him, Prince Bruno, and the Order of Heroes to escape to the realm of Yggdrasill.

Once there, he uses up his own life to create the Yggdrasill Key to give the Order of Heroes a chance to defeat Embla. Though he hides his imminent death from the Order, he confides the truth to Ash while also informing her that he thinks of her as his daughter. Ash at first attempts to deny this show of affection, but embraces it as Askr passes away.

Sometime after Embla's defeat, Sharena and Veronica have a tea party together in one of Letizia's retreats. During the party, Sharena pulls out a small doll of Askr while Veronica pulls out a doll of Embla and have them hold hands, symbolizing that the war between their kingdoms has ended.

Personality[]

Askr is a kind and loving god that admires mortals for their resilience and hope, even in the worst of times. A benevolent deity, he uses his power to aid the people of Askr. He has also long sought to convince Embla to open herself to mortals so that she might see them as he does, and for a time, he succeeds. However, after Embla's show of trust in mortals is betrayed by an individual that sought to kill her, and she once again closes herself off, Askr's entreaties to her fall on deaf ears, as Embla does not feel that he understands her concerns nor takes them seriously.

In-Game[]

God of Openness: God of the opened kingdom, which shares his name. Cheerful and benevolent, he concerns himself with the changes in Embla's heart.

	I can't believe who I have the privilege of introducing to you today! Say hello to Askr, the god who created the very kingdom we live in!
	Far from being an imposing, intimidating deity, Askr is the epitome of friendliness and good cheer. In fact, he created Askr to bring about a world where everyone could form connections and become friends.
	Our kingdom of Askr is known by some as "the opened kingdom," and that goes back to Askr's desire to welcome people without exception, connect with one another, and foster close bonds!
	My understanding is that Askr even wants to be friends with Embla, another god who wishes only to see his downfall. Well, his dreams of friendship are ours as well!
