Basara (婆裟羅) is a class first introduced in Fire Emblem Fates, and is a possible promotion for either the Diviner or Spear Fighter classes. They are flamboyant fighters who perform flashy attacks with Naginata and Scrolls.

Combat

Basara are decent fighters as their stats are relatively balanced to handle both physical and magical-oriented attacks.

The skills Basara learn are Rend Heaven and Quixotic. Rend Heaven is learned at level 5 (or higher if they have not learned it yet). When used, it takes half of the opponent's strength or magic (depending on how the user is attacking), and converts it into damage. This means a Basara's offense can be increased greatly when fighting strength or magic-intense units such as Berserkers and Sorcerers, who naturally have high strength and magic stats respectively.

Quixotic is learned by Basaras at level 15 (or higher). It increases hit rates of both the user and enemy by 30% and skill rates by 15%. In both cases, it increases the kill potential, as skills like Dragon Fang can be used much more often. However, if the player cannot kill the enemy or the enemy attacks first, they can potentially kill the user if they have any offensive skills as their chances of activating it also increase.

Basara (婆裟羅) refers to people in early Muromachi period who ignored their social status and dressed splendidly.
