The Battering Club is a Club that is introduced in Fire Emblem Fates. The advanced version of the Throwing Club, the Battering Club retains its predecessor's ability to perform ranged attacks, and as a sure sign of upgrade it finally allows its user to trigger offensive skills and critical hits. Its might is also doubled from what it used to be.
However, unlike the lesser Throwing Club the user can only attack from a distance (making it similar to most bows/yumi), also retaining the drawback of preventing the user from performing follow up attacks and increasing the enemy's ability to follow up. Lastly, it's less accurate than the previous model. Like most other clubs, the Battering Club is less powerful than its Nohrian counterpart (the Tomahawk) by two points in Might, but the Hit and Critical Rates are increased by five each. The Battering Club also does not possess the minus ten evasion penalty that the similar Tomahawk imposes on wielders.
The Battering Club is analogous to the Wakizashi, Tomahawk, and Spear.

Etymology[]
The club is based on a kanabō (金棒), a long, iron club riddled with knobs. The kanabō was a common weapon amongst the oni (鬼), a race of huge demonic ogres in Japanese folklore. Kanabō were also sometimes used by samurai to to smash their opponents armor and bones.
