Fire Emblem references in Nintendo games

There's only a reference can be found in Non-Fire Emblem games.

  • A toad from Petalburg mentions about the Tacticial Strategy JRPG game franchise: "There's this one game that just absolutely rules. It's called "Fire Emblem"..." How curious, Paper Mario and Fire Emblem were developed by the same business Intelligent Systems, and also, making the homage to the GBA game: Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade.

This reference is only appear in North American and European Engilsh version from the game, while in the Japanese, French and Spanish versions, there's nothing featured from this franchise.

Awakening (A Ten Year Retrospective)

On April 19, 2012, a dying franchise released a game which potentially could have been its final swan song. Instead of going away with a dying breath, that franchise found its second wind, ushering a new era and interest in this otherwise tier two Nintendo franchise.

This is the story of Fire Emblem Awakening and the ten years since this thirteenth title to arguably one of Nintendo's most profitable IPs right after the big three of Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon.

  • 1 A Dying Kingdom
  • 2 One Last Chance
  • 3 Generations Come Together
  • 4 The Future of Fire Emblem

Let's be honest, we owe much to Awakening for the continued existence of this site as the astounding success of this title. It revived the series from the levels of mediocrity that has killed other franchise…

Naui's Heroes Roster

Despite trying to make a comprehensive review of the Heroes roster a few times, I realistically don't have the attention to do such a thing, so instead, I have opted to just put here in my Blog my current build for all of my characters.

Feel free to check out my builds and you can comment on any questions you may have about my units. WIP, no set schedule

  • 1 General Notes
  • 2 Roster
    • 2.1 Base Heroes
      • 2.1.1 Heroes

I mostly keep my units locked to their native weapon(s) that don't require inheritance from another unit. If a unit has an arcane weapon, it will be listed in their equipped weapons boxes. Merges, Dragonflowers, and Refines are noted in each section.

I divide my characters into five sections: Normal Heroes (includes base forms, non-seasonal variat…

Best uses of lectures in FE3H

  • 1 For certifying
  • 2 For experience
  • 3 For mastery skills
  • 4 Budding Talents
  • 5 For Combat
  • 6 TL;DR version

As certification gives an increase to a new baseline of stats and the baseline doesn't change whether you're level 20 and 40, the top priority of lectures should NOT be in combat viable classes or reaching high ranks with weapons people often use, but instead on getting certified as soon as possible. After they get their stat bonuses from certification, units can then focus on other things.

Not all stats benefit equally from certification. None of the beginner classes give particularly striking stat increases. For intermediate, Armor Knight's 30 HP/12 defense immediately stands out, helping practically every single character, and the 11 dex/speed of th…

Black Eagles builds thoughts

  • Edelgard

Edelgard's magic growth really isn't bad! I'm going to make her a dark knight for this run, because with only two dark spells she'll need as many uses as she can get. To make this viable I need to commit to it as early as possible, to ensure maximum magic growths. In the short term, she'll stick with Brigand and Mage (will need both Blow skills), Pegasus Knight (Alert Stance+), Archer (Hit+20); in the long term, she'll need to train lance, riding and reason to access Dark Knight. Consider mastering Warlock, Wyvern Lord, Mercenary.

Edelgard has unique sword and axe arts, to of which are again related to magic. Considering her affinity to Aymr, it makes sense for her to focus on axes.

Final five skills should be: Fiendish Blow, Dark To…

Vandals

I must wonder, why is this wiki such a delicious target for vandals? At the very least here, the leadership tries to deal with it as swiftly as possible in a way that still allows us to edit the wiki. Another wiki admin on a different wiki just locks the pages that have been vandalized and doesn't let any actual contributors try to lighten said admin's workload! It makes no sense!

Certifying as a means of increasing stats

All classes have a set of base stats. If the unit certifying into that class has lower stats than the base stats of these classes, then all of their below-par stats automatically increase to the base of that class. You don't need to BE in that class; just certify it for the weak and move on, enjoying your higher stats.

This has big implications for units that are really lacking in a stat and could use as much of it as possible. For example, Lysithea is a glass cannon with a base defense of 3 and a def growth of 10%, meaning that she could level up 40 times and still have an average of 7. Reclassing her to Armor Knight, however, instantaneously boosts her defense permanently to 12! Best of all, low level classes don't require much skill inve…

Thoughts on Three Houses units as spellcasters

Many characters are naturally considered to be awesome mages, like Lysithea, Annette, and Hubert. All units can use spells, however, and some may be overlooked. I'm looking through the units that may not normally be considered spellcasters. So I am leaving out Hubert, Linhardt, Dorothea, Mercedes, Annette, Marianne, Lysithea, Hanneman, Manuela, and Flayn.

I'm ranking spells based on their power and weight. I don't consider the number of uses to be critical, since a vast majority of maps can be finished within 15 turns or so, with each unit being used once per turn.

  • Byleth: 35% Base magic growth. Easily trained since they're so well rounded.

Bolganone and Ragnarok are solid. As a healer, Byleth is reasonably good at close range patching up, bu…

Choose Your Legends Placement History

It's been a long time coming, but we're finally done! Huge thank you to everyone who helped me with the project, it turned something that could have easily taken a year into something that only took a few months. I started this project because I felt CYL data was a welcome addition to character pages, as it ends up in a singular location for each character, making it easy to focus on just characters an individual cares about. It's also a super interesting talking point.

Getting all this data in was absolutely subject to human error, so if anyone was missed, feel free to add their data. I'll be monitoring recent changes so I can upload an image if it's needed, and update this blog post accordingly.

When I initially started this project, I imagin…
