The Bolt Axe (ボルトアクス Boruto akusu) is a special Axe that debuts in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Like what its name suggests, this axe is capable of casting thunder magic at a selected enemy unit from a ranged distance. The wielder's Magic stat is harnessed to determine the total damage output instead of their Strength.

In Path of Radiance, the Bolt Axe is also capable of inflicting effective damage against Dragon tribe Laguz.

In Awakening, the Bolt Axe is notable for being the only Regalia weapon that can be purchased from StreetPass shops, as well as from the SpotPass bonus character L'Arachel.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Bolt Axe is not the only axe with lightning infused to it. The weapon Armads from the Elibe series is described in game as a "lightning-charged axe". However, Armads derives its damage from the user's physical strength as opposed to Bolt Axe's magic damage.
  • The Bolt Axe and Owain's personal weapon, Missiletain, are the only weapons that are classified as legendary, can be sold for profit, and can be Forged.
  • In Fire Emblem Heroes, Libra is depicted with the Bolt Axe in his art despite the fact he comes equipped with Wo Gùn as his weapon. As of 2020, the Bolt Axe isn't even a weapon in Heroes.
