Bovis is one of the twelve Deadlords, and appears in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, and Fire Emblem Awakening.

In Genealogy of the Holy War, little is mentioned about the Deadlords, but they are all fought in the Final Chapter near Belhalla and eventually defeated, including Bovis.

In Thracia 776, Bovis is fought in the Final Chapter. The character who becomes Bovis is Galzus if he is dead or not recruited.

In Awakening, Bovis is fought in Chapter 22 alongside the other eleven Deadlords. He takes the form of a Bow Knight.

With the skills Pursuit, Critical, and Charge, it is highly recommended to either attack Bovis at range or with a character with Awareness. Should you engage him in melee combat, beware his attack speed of 19, which is high enough to double most non-sword users. The player could also try dividing the Deadlords up into separate groups, so as to determine which characters are best for facing each individual warlord. The Forseti user should be used to defeat Bovis with little effort.

Caution should be exercised when facing off against Bovis. He possesses both the Moonlight Sword and Shooting Star Sword skills, which make him a force to be reckoned with. It is thus recommended to reposition certain units to engage Bovis at a range in order to fell him. Alternatively, a Sleep staff may be utilized against him for a slightly easier fight, though your sleep staff user will need to hit 20 Magic to actually put him to sleep.

Etymology[]

The Deadlords' names are Latin words for the animals of the Chinese zodiac. The second sign is the ox, which in Latin is bos, or bovis in the genitive form.

Zwei, Bovis' Japanese name, is the German word for the number 2.
