“You're the person that killed my father... It's time to end this grudge that has plagued the House of Dozel for 3 generations!”
—Burian

Burian is the brother of Johalva and Johan, the son of Danan, the half-nephew of Lex, and the grandson of Langobalt. Unlike the rest of his family in the second generation, he is not stationed in Isaac, but at Dozel Castle. He fights you in the Final Chapter with the Swanchika, and he perishes.

Unlike his father and grandfather, Burian seemed to be merely misguided and fighting for family honor. When he dies, he wonders if what he's done is really worth dying for.

In-Game

With 47 defense and 27 resistance with the Swanchika and four leadership stars with very high stats, Burian is a menace to fight. Obviously, you will want to hit him with magic attacks since his resistance is 20 points lower than his defense, but regular magic attacks won't do too much due to the fact his resistance is equivalent to a Sage with maxed resistance, and that's not even mentioning that the Swanchika has a range of 1~2 and if Burian manages to hit your magic users, they could easily die.

Simply put, the best way to defeat him is to attack him with your Holsety user, but even with him attacking Burian, Burian will survive two normal hits, but if your Holsety user has Pursuit (he will have Continue), he will most likely get three hits at least, and that is enough to defeat Burian in one round of battle.

Alternatively, the player can leave a swordsman with good evasion on the nearby Chalphy castle to distract Burian while the main army conquers Dozel castle, averting the battle with Burian entirely

Etymology

Burian and his two brothers loosely take their names from the myth of Tuireann from Irish mythology. Tuireann had three sons with his daughter Danand (Danan), which included Brian (Burian), Iuchar (Johan) and Iucharba (Johalva), who killed Lugh's father Cian. After Lugh took his revenge by killing the three brothers, Tuireann wept over their graves.
