History in the SeriesEdit
A physical combat and magical support class, it is accessible only by female units through the use of DLC-exclusive Wedding Bouquets, the Bride class is outfitted with Lances, Bows and Staves as its equipment of choice. The Bride class is commonly regarded as the female equivalent of the Dread Fighter class.
The Bride class is treated as a base class in terms of its Experience Point gain calculation when fighting and defeating other units, despite the class having the stat caps of an advanced class. This enables a unit reclassed into the Bride class to gain levels (and therefore stats) at a much faster rate as compared to other advanced classes when fighting units of the same caliber. In addition to this, Brides are able to remain on-par with advanced classes stat-wise.
Units reclassed into the Bride class can only reclass into a base class at lower levels. However, like the Villager, Manakete, Taguel, Lodestar, Conqueror, Dread Fighter and Dancer classes, if a character is reclassed at level 30, they will then be able to be reclassed into promoted classes alongside base classes.

A Bride costume is available to Lucina in this game for those who purchase the DLC Season Pass. The costume is purely cosmetic and has no effect on Lucina's class or abilities.
A second Bride costume is available to Caeda by clearing A Brush in the Teeth, a History Mode map from the Shadow Dragon DLC Pack. Like Lucina's Bride costume, it is purely cosmetic and has no effect on Caeda's class or ablilities.
- In Awakening, the Bride class uses the Grandmaster's unused bow, staff and lance animations, a trait shared by the Dread Fighter, which utilizes the Grandmaster's sword and tome animations, and the unused axe animation.
- Fire Emblem Heroes has released special variants of select characters dressed as brides for seasonal events, though they do not function as the Bride character class. Cordelia, Lyndis, Caeda, Ninian, Sanaki, Tharja, Fjorm, and Sigrun all have bridal variants, while Charlotte, Tanith, and Louise made their debuts in the game as part of bride-themed banners and have yet to appear as their 'standard' versions.
- Out of all the female characters introduced in the bride's outfit, Caeda, Ninian, Sanaki, Tharja, and Sigrun use weapons not associated with the Bride class' standard weaponry.
