In Greek Mythology, the Caduceus Staff is also known as Staff of Hermes. The Caduceus is often incorrectly used as a symbol of healthcare organizations and medical practice due to confusion with the traditional medical symbol, the Rod of Asclepius, which has only one snake and is never depicted with wings. Because of its association with the God Hermes, and by extension Mercury, The Caduceus is associated with trades, occupations, and the undertakings of those gods. It is associated with the elemental metal and the planet of the same name. It is said the wand would wake the sleeping and send the awake to sleep, meaning if the staff was applied to the dying, their death was gentle and merciful; if applied to the dead, they were revived and returned to life.

  • The Caduceus Staff can be seen on the statue of Cethleann.
