Caladbolg is a sword in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn that is exclusive to Edward, given to him by King Pelleas. Caladbolg is a national treasure of Daein, along with Tarvos and Lughnasadh, and is considered a piece of Daein Regalia.

Caladbolg is a very powerful sword, being stronger than a Steel Blade and adding 8 points to Edward's Luck, while also being much lighter and more accurate.

Along with its siblings, it is not present in the Japanese version.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Caladbolg is a legendary sword that hails from both Irish and Welsh mythology. In Irish mythology, Caladbolg was the sword of Fergus mac Róich from the Ulster Cycle, and was said to be a two-handed blade that was capable of constructing a circle that resembled a rainbow arc when swung, alongside being imbued with the power to shave the tops of hills and massacre an entire host.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Despite not being in the Japanese version of Radiant Dawn, Caladbolg appears as a skill for Edward in Fire Emblem 0 (Cipher).
