Profile[]

Chloé is a noble of Firene and retainer to Princess Céline. Hailing from a Firenese town by the seaside, she is the daughter of a marquis. While her older brother is expected to inherit the family estate, she has been raised to marry well. Feeling limited by the restraints of her noble life, Chloé finds rebellion in riding her pegasus and sampling folk foods her family would never dare let her eat, eventually meeting and befriending Céline on one of her secret excursions. The meeting inspired Chloé, motivating her to take the knighthood exam and become Céline's retainer.

When Firene was invaded by Elusia, Queen Ève sent Céline with the Ring of the Caring Princess to prevent it from falling into Elusia's hands and meet with her brother, Prince Alfred. Chloé and Louis tailed her, but was slightly separated from her in Florra Mill Town. As luck would have it, Céline was able to meet with Alfred who had brought the Divine Dragon Alear to assist Firene against the invading Elusia army. They are able to drive away the Corrupted from Florra Mill Town and Chloé accompanies her liege for the rest of her journey.

In the Fell Xenologue, Chloé was set on a mission. It is unknown if she lived or not but she had not returned by the time of the Xenologue. If main timeline Chloé faces alternate Céline, she assumes that alternate Chloé died.

"End of spoilers. It's a pleasure doing business with you!"

Personality[]

Chloé is gentle and seems to adore her liege, Céline. She likes fairy tales and beautiful scenery, and tries to find picturesque combinations of those things all the time.

She's fairly easygoing, often taking life and people as they come, and adapting to situations when they happen. This is seen in her support with Framme, where she shakes off the steward clumsily ordering the wrong food for her and celebrating the surprise that Framme's mistakes bring, as well as finding joy in adventuring for legends with Amber, despite being aware of the possibility that these wonders don't exist. She understands Louis and his people-watching hobby, while recognizing how peculiar it may seem to others, and humors Hortensia's bold approach and persistent observation of her traits.

Despite being a noble, Chloé enjoys sampling folk foods, no matter how bizarre they are. This stems from her restricted upbringing, having her life fully dictated by her parents as she was raised to be an ideal noblewoman and wife. Chloé's love for folk food is born from a desire for unique and exciting experiences, as well as to connect with the world in a way she wasn't able to as a child. And despite the oddity of her food preferences, her earnest passion for them has even inspired others to become more accepting of them, such as Bunet and Seadall.

She also exhibits a thoughtful and nurturing side, empathizing with and reassuring Jean's fears about the war, relating to Citrinne regarding the commonalities of their social status and role as royal knights, as well as caring after Merrin and accepting her for who she is, while earnestly supporting them all in their respective goals by gathering herbs for Jean, and helping the latter two to train.

In the Fell reality, Chloé is said to have a bland taste for food.

Overall[]

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

Chloé is the first Flier available in the game. Her good starting Speed, Dexterity and Resistance as well as excellent to good growth rates in Speed, HP and Dexterity give her the ability to easily perform Follow-Ups against a majority of enemies, as well as sponge the occasional major hit reasonably well. Her Strength growth is mediocre, however, and in fact is lower than her Magic growth, which can leave her unable to efficiently defeat tankier units later on without investment. Her Defense and Resistance growths are only average, meaning she does not take repeated hits very well.

Her starting class, Lance Flier. naturally promotes into Griffon Knight, giving her access to Staffs. This can let her make use of her reasonable Magic growth, providing an extra early healer, and naturally augments her very high Speed, but does little to solve her Strength issues later unless she is given a magic weapon such as a Flame Lance. Reclassing her to a Wyvern Knight instead helps fix several of her issues at once, giving her solid boosts to her HP, Strength and Defense, though at a small cost of Speed. Her Personal Skill is Fairy-Tale Folk, which states that if a male and a female ally are adjacent within 2 spaces, Chloé deals +2 damage during combat after defense/resistance calculation. If she can be kept close to the main party, this skill can activate with surprising frequency, and synergizes well with her high speed to double-attack enemies.

For Emblem Rings, Chloé predominantly prefers rings that augment her offensive prowess. She synergizes very well with the Ring of the Holy Knight, improving her already excellent mobility as a flier with extra movement and especially Canto. The Ring of the Lady of the Plains can be a potent offensive ring by granting her Alacrity, especially if her Strength can be improved through other means, as it offers her consistent one-hit-kills on many squishier opponents without fear of counterattack due to her high speed. Finally, the Ring of the Azure Twins is a very versatile ring that makes her a surprisingly self-sufficient unit, granting her Gentility and Bravery which synergize with her high HP and speed, respectively, a way to heal herself with Solar Brace and a way to combat armored units with Lunar Brace.

Due to her good availability, growths, versatility and strong start in contrast to Jean and Anna, Chloé is overall one of the best early-game targets for investment in Engage. Though she does not have any particular large power spike asides from her promotion and caution will always be required around the many flying-effective foes in the game, she can contribute well early on and continue to pull her weight for the majority of the game, easily justifying a team slot on most runs.

Here's Chloé, a pegasus knight from Elyos! She's a retainer to Céline, the princess of Firene.
A noblewoman, Chloé loves beautiful scenery and fairy tales. Combine that with her gentle personality, and just being around her is enough to make anyone feel at ease.
She does have an unusual quirk, however. She's often seen walking around eating rare delicacies, and when I say "rare," I mean it—things a lot of folks wouldn't dream of putting in their mouths!
Anyway, I hope I get the chance to take her to our Aether Keep's dining hall! I wonder if any Askran food might suit her palate?
