The Convoy is a means of accessing the inventory. The mechanic was first introduced in The Binding Blade, and has been present in most games in the series since.

History in the Series[]

The convoy first appeared in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade under the pretense of the merchant Merlinus. He was the player's only means of storing items if a unit's inventory is full. If Merlinus fell in battle, the player would lose the convoy.

In Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, the convoy is again attached to Merlinus, first appearing as his stationary storage tent. Merlinus levels up after being deployed in a chapter and surviving, and eventually promotes into the mobile wagon he had in The Binding Blade. Unlike The Binding Blade, if Merlinus is defeated in battle, he can be deployed again after, meaning the player never loses access to the convoy.

From Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones onward, the Lord character would serve as the convoy.

In Fire Emblem Engage, in addition to the above, the Enchanter class possesses the Convoy skill, allowing characters other than the Lord to access the inventory.
