In actuality, Corrin was born to Mikoto and the human manifestation of Anankos' benevolent soul in Valla. However, their happiness toward was short lived as the dragon form of Anankos began his rampage, forcing Anankos' human form to send his lover and child to safety. Eventually, Mikoto brought them to Hoshido where she eventually married the Hoshidan King, Sumeragi. Corrin was officially adopted into the family, but the fact that they were not related to the Hoshidan royal family by blood was kept a secret by Sumeragi, Mikoto, and Ryoma. As a result, Corrin also never learns that Anankos is their birth father, nor do they learn that Lilith is their 'sister' due to separate vows of secrecy that Lilith and Mikoto made with Anankos' heart.
Despite conflict between Hoshido and Nohr, the Nohrian King, Garon, wanted to parley with Sumeragi and Corrin was brought at the suggestion of Garon. However, this parley was a trap and Sumeragi was killed defending Corrin. Corrin was kidnapped by Garon and raised in Nohr as a member of their royal family. Corrin lost all memory of their life prior to their capture, with their memory of Sumeragi's death in particular being sealed away by a curse.
Corrin's first memories are within the Northern Fortress where they were held captive for fifteen years. Despite being a prisoner, they were "adopted" by King Garon of Nohr, thus making Xander, Camilla, Leo, and Elise their adopted siblings. A veteran Nohrian knight, Gunter, was assigned to train Corrin in combat, eventually becoming one of Corrin's retainers. Corrin was seldom lonely in the fortress as the Nohrian royal siblings made frequent visits to the Fortress, with Xander taking the role of a sparring partner as their martial prowess grew. They were also retained by Jakob, Felicia, Flora, and Lilith.
One day, a young Nohrian boy visiting the fortress befriended Corrin. Silas attempted to sneak them out of the Fortress to go on a picnic, but was caught and barred from the Fortress. In another incident, being an animal lover, Corrin found an injured baby bird and nursed it back to health. Unbeknownst to them, this was a person under a guise and would eventually become an important individual later.
Prologue[]
One day, Corrin receives a premonition of conflict between Hoshido and Nohr through a dream. Before a pivotal moment can be seen, they are awoken by their retainers. Xander has summoned them once more for a sparring session, where Corrin succeeds in impressing Garon with his combat skills, allowing them to leave the fortress for the first time. At Castle Krakenburg, Garon gifts them an otherworldly sword called Ganglari as their personal weapon. For his first task, he has Corrin, alongside his retainers, fight imprisoned Hoshidan soldiers. Among them are Kaze and Rinkah, both of whom Corrin decides to spare after victory. With help from Leo and Xander, Corrin is able to feign their deaths and set them free later. Angered by Corrin's insubordination, Garon orders them to survey the Bottomless Canyon, sending Corrin with Gunter and one of Garon's generals, Hans.
At the canyon, Corrin notices that Hoshidan soldiers are occupying the opposite side of the Bottomless Canyon and decides to report back. However, Hans brazenly engages the Hoshidans, forcing a fight. The skirmish ends with the Hoshidan forces subdued as the Nohrian royal siblings arrive. As they head back, Hans suddenly attacks Gunter and plunging him into the Canyon. Enraged, Corrin taps into a hidden power that gives them dragon-like appendages, forcing Hans to retreat. Corrin tries to chase after Hans, but before they can exact their vengeance, the Ganglari throws them into the canyon. As they fall, Lilith suddenly appears, transforming into a small dragon creature and teleporting Corrin to a different plane of existence, the Astral Plane. Knowing that Corrin will play an important role in the events to come, Lilith offers to leave a portal open for them and their allies to use and rest between their battles.
Upon returning back to the world, they are ambushed by Rinkah who knocks them out and brings them to Hoshido. Escorted by Kaze to Castle Shirasagi, they meet Ryoma, their long-lost older brother, and Mikoto, their mother. Overjoyed by their reunion, she embraces them. Because of the curse that suppressed their memories, Corrin is unable to fully accept Mikoto's claims. Not wanting to pressure them, Mikoto encourages Corrin to take all the time they need to recover. Corrin assists Ryoma with a distress call from Hinoka and Sakura, allowing for another warm reunion and similar disappointment to their suppressed memories. Back at the castle, near a lake, a beautiful melody fills the air as they spot a blue-haired girl singing. She introduces herself as Azura, explaining that she is originally a Nohrian princess who was kidnapped and raised in Hoshido, the inverse of Corrin's situation. Corrin spends a few days more in Hoshido, still unable to recall any memories. Nonetheless, Mikoto wishes to introduce them to the people of Hoshido.
At the castle town, just as Mikoto introduces them to the Hoshidan people, a hooded man appears and silently calls Ganglari to him. Using the sword, he creates a large explosion, causing massive destruction to the town and citizens there. Using shards of the fragmented blade, the assailant launches them at Corrin, only for Mikoto to intercept. Her final words to Corrin are merely to see if they are uninjured. As they affirm that they are okay, Mikoto succumbs to her wounds. Her death unleashes a surge of energy from Corrin, causing them to transform into a Feral Dragon. Devoid of their senses, Corrin assaults the hooded man, but is only able to force them to retreat. In the aftermath, Azura approaches Corrin and, utilizing her special pendant and a mystical song, is able to quell their rage, reverting them back to human form.
Reawakened, the devastation caused partially by their hand upsets them with Takumi labeling them the cause of the tragedy. Ryoma assures Corrin that they are free of fault and, due to giving Corrin the Ganglari, the Nohrians are to blame. Due to the explosion, the statue in the center of town was destroyed, revealing a sword that was sealed within. Yukimura explains that the sword is the Yato, a legendary blade meant to be wielded by a hero to end a great war. Released from its seal, the Yato rises from the pedestal and flies into Corrin's hands, choosing them as its wielder.
Mikoto's death causes the protective barrier she had cast to dispel, allowing the Nohrian army to finally invade Hoshido. The Nohrian and Hoshidan armies meet at the Plains of Hoshido, lead by their respective royal families. There, the Nohrian royal siblings are relieved to see Corrin unharmed and call for them as the Hoshidan royal siblings encourage Corrin to stay with them. Corrin realizes that their dream has become reality and are left with a choice. Does Corrin return to Nohr in search of answers? Does Corrin stay with Hoshido and retaliate against Nohr's aggression? Or does Corrin perhaps side with neither in hopes of finding another way? Standing at the crux of fate, Corrin's decision changes the destiny of the world.
Birthright[]
Corrin refuses to return to Nohr, now aware of their evil ways and having experienced Garon's orchestrated attack that killed so many innocent Hoshidans, including their late mother. Despite Xander's pleas to have them return home, Corrin adamantly refuses. Xander, resolving himself to capture Corrin by any means necessary and dragging them back by force, unleashes his full strength against them. However, Ryoma intervenes and duels Xander to protect Corrin, while Corrin fights with their Hoshidan siblings, eventually repelling the Nohrian forces. For their betrayal, Nohr has labeled Corrin a traitor.

Throughout the initial part of the story, Corrin gathers the best of the Hoshidan forces and find Ryoma and Takumi who went missing. They head to Izumo where they meet with Izana, who tells them about the recent battle and that they are both alive. Corrin captures Zola and spares him. During their trip through Mokushu, they find Takumi, who joins their group shortly afterwards, and take a ship to Crykensia.
Arriving in Nohr, they wind up in Cyrkensia, a port town where King Garon was going to watch a performance at a local Opera House. As luck would have it, the star of the show Layla wanted to visit her mother and Azura comes up with the idea to masquerade as her using Zola's magic. Using her deception, they plot to kidnap Garon and force the war to end in exchange for his life. Azura sings Lost in Thoughts All Alone, causing Garon some discomfort. He then summons his forces, aware that the Hoshidans were inside and reveals that Zola had leaked information to him. Despite Zola's betrayal, he attempts to parley some mercy for Corrin, but Garon executes him for his sentiment. Corrin barely manages to escape from the trap and makes their way with the rest of their army to Cheve.
At Cheve, Corrin stops to take a rest, only for Camilla and Hans to appear and another fight ensues. The Chevois quietly aid the Hoshidans with various items to help their cause. After the battle is over, Corrin tries to reason with Camilla, almost managing to convince her until Leo shows up. Hans is revealed to have survived the battle. Before they are able to do anything, a General appears and attacks Leo, wounding him. A strong rebel force led by Scarlet appears afterwards, forcing Leo, Hans and Camilla to retreat. The general is revealed to be Ryoma, and the Hoshidan siblings are reunited again. Scarlet takes the group to the resistance hideout, where the Nohrian army suddenly attacks. They make their way to the border wall and break through the defenses set there.
Due to the Nohrian blockade around the capital, Corrin is forced to go through Mount Garou. There they encounter Keaton who, despite initial hostility, allows them to pass through. However, a magical land mine planted by Iago detonates, killing a Wolfskin and a fight ensues. At the end of the battle, Keaton and the Wolfskins are killed in battle. Corrin expresses regret fighting the Wolfskin people, but this thought is dashed when the ground crumbles beneath them. As they fall, Kaze leaps in and grabs Corrin, but Corrin clings to Kaze's arm for dear life. Depending on Corrin's support level with Kaze, a different scene unfolds.
- If Corrin does not achieve at least A Rank Support with Kaze, the latter sacrifices himself by throwing Corrin to Hinoka as the ground beneath him crumbles and he falls into the chasm. Corrin grieves for his death but knows that they have to move on.
- If Corrin has at least an A Rank Support with Kaze, the latter notices a magic land mine and throws a shuriken at it. An explosion throws both out of the cliff to safety. Grateful for Kaze's rescue, their bond is fortified and the Hoshidan army moves on.
Shortly after leaving Mount Garou, Takumi has a critical fever and Corrin decides to go search a Nohrian stronghold for medicine. They encounter Flora who offers to find the medicine they need. However Iago makes an appearance to take down Corrin. After repelling Iago and his forces, they ask Iago how he knew where they were, but Iago only taunts them by saying they have a traitor in their group and flees. The group successfully find the medicine and Takumi is cured. Needing a place to rest, Flora suggests that they stay at the Ice Tribe Village and both Corrin and Felicia are delighted by the idea. At the village, Flora leaves for a short time and returns with Nohrian soldiers. Hurt by her betrayal, the army defeats Flora and Corrin questions why she attacked them. Flora explains that King Garon forced her to, lest she and her tribe be killed by him. Unable to cope with her cowardice and guilt-ridden for attacking Corrin, Flora sets herself ablaze and dies, much to Corrin, Felicia and Jakob's horror.
Corrin then passes through the Woods of the Forlorn, where they meet Leo again, who renounces his familial love for them and fights them. Despite the aid of his retainers and the Faceless horde, he is defeated. However, Corrin cannot bring themselves to hurt him, and so spares his life. Leo likewise admits he unable to hurt them either. He apologizes for his actions and gives them a round-trip warp tome to Notre Sagesse in exchange for a crystal ball Azura gives him.
During their stay at Notre Sagesse, Corrin flags down an old man, who directs them to the Sevenfold Sanctuary, where the Hoshidans face off against the shades of those that died there. After ascending the sanctuary, they are immediately transported back to the town. The old man reveals himself as the Rainbow Sage they are looking for, and prepares the Seal of Flames ritual, giving them Noble Yato. After using Leo's warp tome to take them back into the Woods of the Forlorn, they head north towards Fort Dragonfall, but are ambushed by Iago again. They escape the fortress and head out to sea. At sea, the Hoshidan siblings are notified of the battle front at home and take a rumored shortcut through the Demon's Falls to reach the Nohrian capital of Windmire faster.
When they reach Windmire, they are ambushed by Shura's gang, who demands they hand over Yato. After a battle, Shura swears loyalty to Ryoma after hearing of his royal status. Shura shows the group the underground life of Nohr and on the way, bump into Elise, who was selling flowers. Elise takes the group into a small house where her wetmother, Cassita, gives them some information about Garon and two queens; Arete and Katerina. While on the way to castle Krakenburg's throne room, they are ambushed by Camilla after Elise's retainers thought they had kidnapped her. They manage to beat her in combat and explain the situation to her before proceeding.
After exiting the secret tunnel, the Hoshidans find themselves in the middle of a training ground led by Hans. Hans' soldiers are unable to defeat the Hoshidans, so Hans personally takes over, overwhelming Corrin. Before Hans can land the killing blow, Lilith sacrifices herself. Corrin, in a fit of rage, kills Hans after a short battle. Lilith talks with Corrin one last time before dying, sending them into tears. However, Ryoma tells them that they cannot give up now, as they are getting closer and that she sacrificed herself to help their cause, giving new hope to Corrin.
The Hoshidans army arrive at the staircase leading to the throne room of Castle Krakenburg and before they can climb it, Iago ambushes them once again and mocks Corrin for still being alive, but Corrin is sick of Iago's games and tells him to get it over with. However, Iago tells Elise to come to his side, to which she refuses on grounds of making Xander and Leo fight Corrin those separate times and attempting to kill them many times. As Corrin threatens him, Iago reveals one last trick: mind controlling Takumi, who begins to restrain Azura. Iago explains that Takumi has been on Nohr's side all along, as thanks to him, he knew of their whereabouts. Corrin refuses to believe Takumi would willingly betray them, reasoning that he must still be possessed. Corrin pleads for Takumi to stop, saying that they still believe in him. Takumi's possession lapses for just long enough for Azura to sing and dispel it completely. Takumi breaks free and shoots Iago, and declares that he will live up to his title as prince. Iago is shocked and angered that his plans failed yet again, as Corrin then declares that peace is coming and he can't stand in their way any longer and threatens to kill Iago once and for all, and the Hoshidan army begin their assault against Iago.
After being defeated for the final time, out of shame and desperation, Iago begs Corrin to spare him, claiming to have been possessed, just like Takumi. However, they are not fooled by this and Leo arrives moments afterwards. Iago begs Leo to save him, but he ignores Iago's pitiful attempt to receive mercy and refusal to accept death and mercilessly executes him for good. Corrin thanks Leo and asks him to join them, but he informs Corrin that although he has been enlightened on the righteousness of their cause, he is unable to formally join them due to his position as a prince of Nohr and cannot aid them further. Corrin and Elise leave with Leo's blessing.
After passing through the Great Staircase in Castle Krakenburg, Corrin faces off against Xander alone. Elise, hating the idea of seeing her two dear siblings fight, intervenes, taking Xander's finishing blow in Corrin's stead. In her final breaths, Elise pleads with Xander to seek a more peaceful end to their fight. Both Corrin and Xander grieve for their fallen sister but Xander insists on finishing the duel. Heartbroken by their sister's death and their brother's seemingly uncaring feelings towards it, Corrin resolves to end the duel. Though they finally strike him down, they know that Xander was holding back and allowed them to do so. Xander admits that he is aware of his father's descent into madness. However, seeing how much Corrin has grown, he believes that they now wield the power to end his machinations and bring true peace to the world. Before moving forward once and for all, Corrin thanks Xander and Elise for all that they've done for them, and promises to them that they will end the war for good.
In the throne room, Corrin finally confronts Garon to end his reign. Garon then flaunts their power and taunts them, referring to their achievements as "something approaching competence". Corrin announces their aim to dethrone Garon, bringing up the deaths of Xander and Elise, which Garon is surprised by, though only because of Xander's and Corrin's strength as his "pawns". Disgusted by Garon's nature, Corrin declares him to be irredeemable and vows to kill him. With their strengthened bond with Ryoma and Takumi, the Yato ascends in form, turning into Blazing Yato. Despite his newfound power, Garon is taken down, but in a last ditch effort, he transforms into a Blight Dragon. Corrin protects Ryoma and Takumi from a powerful attack, but falls into a near-death state.
Inside their mind, they meet Flora, Lilith, Xander and Elise again, and quickly realize this is just a dream. The four convince Corrin to take arms again and fight for their allies, and after a gruesome battle, Garon is defeated for good. Garon returns to his human form, regaining his memories again before disappearing. Corrin wonders if what Xander said was true, with Garon being controlled by another entity. Corrin and the Hoshidan siblings notice that Azura is dissolving into water, an effect of overtaxing the power of her necklace and her song. Corrin mourns for her sacrifice but promises to make a better future thanks to her power.
Following King Garon's death, peace is restored throughout the lands. Ryoma ascends the Hoshidan throne, becoming its new king. Meanwhile Leo has taken over as the newly crowned King of Nohr, after Camilla relinquished the position to him. After a feast to celebrate Ryoma's coronation, Corrin visits the lake where they first met Azura, thanking her once more for her sacrifice and vows to preserve the peace they fought for. The Hoshidan royal siblings gather at the newly erected statue of Mikoto in Shirasagi Castle Town, vowing to maintain peace with Corrin on their side.
At the end of the route, if Female Corrin marries Ryoma, she will rule alongside him as the new queen of Hoshido.
Conquest[]
Despite being aware of Nohr's methods and the Hoshidan royals' pleas to have them reevaluate the situation, Corrin decides to fight for Nohr. Angered by Corrin's betrayal of their mother's memory and believing them to be brainwashed once more, Ryoma attacks both Corrin and Xander. Corrin joins the Nohrian forces and aids in dispatching the Hoshidan forces, in which they eventually succeed.
With the conquest of Hoshido possible and with Corrin back with them, the Nohrian forces return back to Castle Krakenburg to devise their next course of action for the war. However, Corrin secretly sided with the Nohrians only to get answers directly from Garon for the attack he orchestrated.

After returning to Nohr, Garon is angered by their surprising return. Corrin feigns loyalty to Nohr and Garon decides to send them to quell an impending rebellion by the Ice Tribe by themselves to test their loyalty. Fortunately, Xander overhears why Garon sent them alone and sends Elise, her retainers and Silas to accompany them to the Ice Tribe. When they arrive, they are treated nicely after Kilma, the leader of the Ice Tribe, recognizes Yato. However, he and his tribesmen fight them after knowing the real reason to why they were sent there, but Corrin and their allies defeat them. Kilma wonders why he is being spared before Corrin lets him know, and after hearing Corrin's words, believes them, stopping the rebellion.
When Corrin returns, Garon is pleased with their progress, though he quickly becomes angered when Iago reveals that they had assistance. Garon threatens to kill them for disobeying his orders, though he relents when Xander and Elise reveal that they were the ones who assisted them. Garon later sends Corrin to capture Notre Sagesse.
On the way, they rescue Azura from a group of Hoshidans at Fort Dragonfall, having been captured under suspicion of being a traitor like Corrin by the Hoshidan people, despite protests from the Hoshidan royal siblings. They later arrive at Notre Sagesse, where they encounter stiff Hoshidan resistance both in the town and in the Sevenfold Sanctuary, but manage to rout them. The Rainbow Sage gives Corrin the ability to power up Yato, saying he needs two more heroes to unlock the Seal of Flames, before he commits suicide due to his long age and potential powers if the Hoshidans captured him again.
The group eventually reaches Cheve, where another battle occurs between the Nohrians and the combined Hoshidan and Chevois forces. The Nohrians come out victorious and has spared the lives of the enemy soldiers. Corrin suddenly hears screaming and it is shown that after the battle, Hans and his men barged in and started to kill everyone. Corrin demands for Hans to stop, but he simply replies that Garon has ordered him to do so. Corrin then reflects on the bloodshed with Camilla and how she is so calm with all the unnecessary violence occurring. She replies that they must bury all their feelings deep within their heart and continue as if nothing had happened, because there is nothing they can do against Garon's direct orders.
Corrin eventually meets up with Garon at the Opera House and meets Leo again. Garon privately speaks with Corrin, telling that he learned of their victory at Cheve from Hans and that they contributed to the slaughter, much to their outrage. During the performance, a songstress appears and causes pain to Garon with her song and dance. Iago and his soldiers attempt to apprehend the songstress, but she has already disappeared before they are able to do anything. Hoshidan assassins led by Kumagera then attack in a bid to end Garon's life to stop the war. The assassination attempt is repelled, and after the battle, Garon orders all the songstresses killed. Corrin then calls out to Garon; warning him they are sick of taking innocent lives and that they should show mercy and try to talk things out instead, then no one would have to die and finally reveals Hans's role in Cheve, but Garon only cares for his desire to rule Hoshido and will do anything to achieve that task, even if someone disobeys and dies, shocking Corrin. Leo calls Corrin out of the confrontation, stating that they are tired from recent events, after which Leo and Corrin leave the scene.
Away from Garon, Leo scolds Corrin about protesting Garon's order, and gives them the same response as Camilla. He does reveal that they have done acts of good though, as they have always tried to find a way around his orders if possible. As Leo and Corrin come to an understanding, Leo's Brynhildr starts glowing, after which Leo states that Corrin's Yato is doing the same; Corrin deduces that this is the transformation that the Rainbow Sage spoke of.
Unable to cope with the violence, Corrin finds Azura acting suspiciously and follows her into an unknown land. Mysterious soldiers appear and attack, but Gunter arrives and protects them. The three fight their way through and manage to escape.
Returning to Nohr, Azura reveals to them that in order to achieve peace, they must kill Garon and shows them that Garon is no longer human and is corrupted by a malevolent presence. Her performance was used as an attempt to remove the presence, but failed. She tells them that the only way to expose him is by having him sit on the Hoshidan throne, which would mean they would have to support an invasion of Hoshido, then have him sit on the throne, exposing his monster form, and killing him to end the war. Corrin reluctantly accepts and makes their way through Hoshidan lands.
With major areas seized to set a staging ground, Garon authorizes the invasion of Hoshido, tasking Corrin and their army to infiltrate through the ocean, as all land routes are likely to be fortified. Xander accompanies the group, and during their journey, they discover bandits on the ship and eliminate them. Upon capturing their leader, he reveals himself as Shura and Xander allows Corrin to decide their fate. If Corrin spares Shura, he joins their army, and Xander keeps the revelation secret from Garon. If Corrin executes him, Xander sends a messenger to inform Garon, while Corrin expresses despair at the needless violence they are committing.
They eventually arrive at Mokushu, where they are met by their daimyo Kotaro. Kotaro had requested aid, and during their discussion, Saizo attempts to assassinate him but fails. Upon learning from Saizo that he is keeping Kagero hostage, Corrin demands to look at the prison cells. Kotaro then bluntly admits that he was keeping her hostage, and sends out a large group of Mokushujin to kill them all in a "tragic accident", but fails and is killed in the process.
Going past Mokushu and Izumo, they find a large Hoshidan army blocking their advance to the capital. Corrin decides on circumnavigating the forces by traversing the nearby mountains, where they encounter a pack of Kitsune led by Kaden. Though Kaden believes Corrin, he refuses to let them through due to an old Kitsune belief, so Corrin and the army are forced to slay them all in self-defense. Corrin regrets the unnecessary violence that occurred, but knows that the war must end at all costs.
They eventually arrive at the Wind Tribe Village where they parley with their chieftain, Fuga. After defeating him and his tribesmen, they are shown the way to the Eternal Stairway and find a large number of slain Hoshidans. By then, a horde of Faceless appear, send by Iago to make Corrin suffer, forcing Corrin and the others to break for the exit before they are overwhelmed. During the skirmish, Lilith is killed by a Faceless, much to Corrin's horror.
Eventually leaving the Eternal Stairway, they find themselves outside Fort Jinya, where they defeat the garrison's defenders and capture Yukimura, Sakura and her retainers, but most of the Hoshidans are killed by Hans, Iago and Garon, who arrive early. During their battle at the Great Wall of Suzanoh, the Nohrian army defeats Takumi and his retainers. Despite wishing to spare him, a malevolent force takes over Takumi, causing him to jump over the wall to his death. Reaching Castle Shirasagi, the Nohrian forces storm the castle, leading Corrin to face Hinoka's faction. Hinoka is defeated, but Corrin is left to execute her. Unwilling to follow through, they secretly disobey Garon's orders and allow Hinoka to retreat but demand her naginata as proof of her supposed execution. Despite seeing no corpse, Garon is left appeased, though Iago expresses his doubts. Inside the castle, Corrin faces Ryoma. Despite claiming to have spared their sisters, Ryoma is shown Hinoka's bloodied naginata, leading him to believe that his sibling is forever lost, and the two engage in a long clash. Corrin is able to defeat Ryoma, and Garon orders Ryoma's execution. After witnessing Corrin's hesitation, Ryoma realizes that Corrin is still the same person he grew up with. Willing to sacrifice himself to allow Corrin to end the war, Ryoma commits seppuku, much to Corrin's grief.
With no other defense left, King Garon arrives at the Shirasagi Throne Room, completing his goal. Demanding that they do not enter the throne room without his permission, he goes inside alone to bask in his glory and consult Anankos. Corrin and the others wait outside. Iago exposes Corrin for letting Hinoka go and promptly attempts to kill them along Garon's loyalist. However, they are stopped by Xander and their Nohrian siblings, who have become distrustful of Iago for his schemes and selfishness towards Corrin and swear to kill him and Hans for their crimes and being cowards and traitors of Nohr, much to his horror. Corrin, having had enough of his threats, decides to act like a "merciless killer" and threatens Iago and Hans, stating that they may be from Nohr, but they will punish them the same and they battle against Iago and his army. Hans and Garon's loyalist are killed and Iago is cornered by Corrin and their siblings. He attempts to beg for his life, but they ignore him, all wanting him dead, and Iago begs Leo to spare him, but Leo silences him, citing his numerous atrocities, especially causing great suffering towards Corrin and warns him to accept his fate. Iago is executed by Leo once and for all, dying in vain as he failed to kill Corrin and the Hoshidian royals, as well as failing to make Corrin suffer, as they pulled through his schemes each time. With Iago's death, his schemes and tactics against Corrin and his disgraceful crimes are finally put to an end for good.
With no one left in their way, Corrin finally reveals to the Nohrian royal siblings that the war is not over yet and that they must kill Garon to end it, and reveals to them that Garon is no longer human as he has been replaced by a monster and nothing can save him, thus killing him is the only option. Corrin prepares to enter the throne room with Azura and their siblings to expose Garon's true form and kill him, but the siblings remain skeptical of how Corrin and Azura even know about Garon's state and why they didn't tell them sooner. When Azura cannot tell them because of the curse, Corrin begs and forces their siblings to listen to their words. Xander reluctantly agrees to this, but warns them that if they are lying, they will be executed for treason as they enter the Throne Room. True to their words, a water monster appears before them in a grotesque visage of Garon after sitting on the throne, exposing his true form. Angered at being exposed, Garon curses Corrin for tricking him and attempts to kill them and his children.
In their disbelief, Elise, Camilla and Leo refuse to fight their father, Corrin and Azura beg them to put aside their disbelief and fight Garon and that what they see before them is not their father at all, but a monster. Garon mocks Corrin about turning his children against them and attacks them again, only for Xander to defend Corrin from Garon's wraith and affirms that the monster is no longer his father, referring to his real father as stern, but fair, not using his strength against his children or starting a needless conquest of another kingdom. When Xander tells Corrin that he will lend him his strength, his Siegfried reacts with Corrin's Grim Yato, causing it to transform into Shadow Yato, thus unlocking the Seal of Flames and granting them additional leverage in the fight against Garon. Believing in Corrin, the Nohrian siblings finally agrees to put aside their disbelief and help fight Garon, declaring his reign over, and they finally kill Garon, ending his reign of terror.
As they celebrate their victory, they are cut short when a possessed Takumi appears before them, demanding vengeance for the suffering of the Hoshidans and the death of his brother. Corrin volunteers to accept responsibility for their actions and allow Takumi to shoot them. They fall into a near-death state, where they are met by Mikoto, Lilith, Ryoma, and Takumi, encouraging Corrin to return and the latter asking to stop his possessed self. Corrin is revived and the combined force faces the possessed Takumi.
After defeating the possessed Takumi, Xander and Corrin wonder what could have possessed both Garon and Takumi, but neither are able to come up with an answer. They soon leave to tell the other soldiers that the war is over and search for the now-missing Azura. Despite vowing to find her, they would never see her again after the final battle. Along with the Hoshidan sisters and their Nohrian family, they attend Xander's coronation as the new king of Nohr, with Xander making peace with Hoshido, ending their conflict. Hinoka is revealed to have become the new Queen of Hoshido after the death of her brothers. After Xander's coronation and a lavish banquet celebrating his ascension, Corrin visits a nearby lake. Reminiscing of their first encounter with Azura, she suddenly appears before them. At her request to close their eyes, they thank Azura for her help. When they open their eyes, she mysteriously vanishes, leaving Corrin to wonder if they merely saw an illusion or her spirit.
A few days later, Xander reflects on the senseless war waged in Nohr's name. Vowing to preserve the peace they have earned, the Nohrian siblings vow to turn Nohr in a better direction and establish ties with Hoshido. To ensure they stay on that path, they ask Corrin to guide them, an offer they accept.
If female Corrin marries Xander, she will rule alongside him as the new queen of Nohr.Revelation[]
Knowing that siding with either nation would inevitably force the two against each other, Corrin pleads to both their brothers to stop the war and come to peaceful terms. Believing that the opposing side is manipulating Corrin into their indecisiveness, they engage in battle to spur them to their side.

Needing a way to draw their attention, Corrin, Azura, and Felicia/Jakob decide to take down to frontline commanders of both armies and succeeds. Unfortunately, both Xander and Ryoma see this as an act of treason, and brand Corrin and Azura traitors. With both armies after them, Azura takes them to the Bottomless Canyon and tells them to jump with her into it. After jumping in, they land in an unknown land that Azura introduces as Valla, a mysterious third kingdom that has been orchestrating the war between Nohr and Hoshido following its takeover by Anankos. To ensure that no one can know of this, a curse was placed so that anyone who discusses Valla outside of the kingdom will be killed. With the true villain of the war now made aware to Corrin, they decide to return to the surface in hopes of combining the Nohrian and Hoshidan armies in order to combat this threat.
Upon returning to the surface, Corrin begins the long task of convincing both sides to join forces against a greater threat they are unable to converse about. The Hoshido Royal Siblings and their retainers eventually join Corrin after seeing the honesty in their pleas while the Nohr Royal Siblings and their retainers join upon witnessing Garon's increasingly disenquieting actions throughout the war at come at odds against Nohr's best interests.
With both families united, Corrin leads them to jump off the Bottomless Canyon when the skies above Hoshido and Nohr change, and they all arrive at Valla, where Azura explains the situation further to them. However, during the jump, an unknown assailant kills Scarlet, and Corrin breaks the news to their army. Though they mourn her death, they need to kill the King of Valla, Anankos.
On the way to confront Anankos, Corrin faces several of his resurrected soldiers, including Scarlet and Azura's mother Arete. They also encounter a young Vallite boy named Anthony, who had managed to escape Anankos' control and promised to help enter the castle. Along the way, the army is relentlessly ambushed by Vallite Forces, leading Xander and Ryoma to cast doubt on Anthony as a possible spy, which Corrin disagrees with. Eventually the group fights their way to the castle and Anthony asks Corrin to come alone with him into the castle, which turns out to be a trap, as Anthony was tasked by Anankos to lead Corrin into the trap alone. However, Corrin already knew of the impending betrayal and the army comes to their aid immediately.
Traveling deeper in Castle Valla, Corrin encounters Mikoto who, under Anankos' influence, attempts to lead them into a trap, but avoids it. Corrin defeats Mikoto, and they, alongside Mikoto, are informed that she was originally born in Valla and is the sister of Arete, thus making Corrin Vallite royalty. In addition, she reveals that Corrin is not the child of Sumeragi, but does not reveal who their true father is. Later, they encounter Sumeragi himself who reveals that he was the hooded assailant who lead to Mikoto's death under Anankos' influence. In his defeat, he affirms that he is not Corrin's father, but does not know who their father is either.
Once the army reaches the Vallite throne room, a mysterious spell is launched at Corrin's army, injuring everyone save Corrin and Azura. The army is lead to believe that Corrin and Azura had been leading them into a trap, however Gunter accidentally slips that he knew that Scarlet had pinned a flower charm on her before her descent, a fact no one other than Corrin and Scarlet's killer could have known. Gunter reveals that he was the mole in the army and was being influenced by Anankos ever since he first fell into the Bottomless Canyon. After Corrin defeats Gunter and forgives him, Gunter dispels Anankos' influence and the armies prepare to face the Silent Dragon. Anankos appears and summons Garon, who initially believes that he is to serve Anankos as his vessel, but the dragon devours him, thus fully reclaiming his power. Though Anankos' power rises, Alpha Yato resonates with the weapons of their brothers, transforming into Omega Yato, the Fire Emblem.
After a long battle, Anankos is slain. Hoshido and Nohr, now being led by Ryoma and Xander respectively, forge a bond of peace between nations. With the ordeal they went through, Ryoma and Xander decide to cede part of their lands to Corrin, to ensure Valla will never be forgotten. Though Azura is the rightful heir to the Vallite throne, she relinquishes the title to Corrin as they were the true leader of the army, and thus the one most befitting to lead the restored Valla. With a new bond forged between the three kingdoms, peace comes to the war torn land.
If a Male Corrin marries Niles or a Female Corrin marries Rhajat, the couple eventually adopts two children, who will eventually succeed the Vallite throne. If Female Corrin marries either Ryoma or Xander, Valla will merge with Hoshido or Nohr respectively and be co-ruled by the pair.
If a Male Corrin marries Azura, she becomes Queen of Valla. If not, she serves as Corrin's advisor.Paralogues[]
Over the course of all three routes, Corrin can establish strong bonds with their forces, even possibly marrying several characters. Depending on their marriage partner, it is possible for male Corrin to be the father of Shigure while female Corrin can possibly become a mother for all other children, though they do not play a large part in those children's Paralogues. If they are married to any opposite gender character, Corrin will become the parent of Kana whose gender will be the opposite of theirs.
Like the other first-generation characters of Fates, upon the birth of Kana, they placed them in the Deeprealms to protect them from the brewing war. However, the flow of time in the Deeprealms is faster, thus Kana reached adolescence in a few weeks. Though they made numerous visits, during one visit, Corrin witnesses invisible forces assailing Kana's home. Corrin intervenes but is quickly overwhelmed. Witnessing them under attack causes Kana's emotions to boil over, revealing to Corrin that they too inherited the same draconic abilities, turning them into a Feral Dragon. Corrin and their forces quickly dispatch the invisible enemies and, with assistance of Azura, quells Kana and suppresses their power into a Dragonstone. Worried from their safety and due to Kana's innocent request to join them so they will not be left alone anymore, Corrin allows Kana to join their forces.
Fire Emblem Engage[]
Corrin appears in Engage solely in her female form. A thousand years prior to the events of Engage, the several of the Emblem Rings were distributed to the nations of Elyos. While each of the four outer ring nations received one Emblem Ring each, Solm was one of the nations to secretly receive a second one. While it was publicly known that they safeguarded the Ring of the Radiant Hero, Solm also safeguarded the Ring of the Crux of Fate containing Emblem Corrin within.
The Ring of the Crux of Fate was hidden away in the Northern Fortress, a supposedly haunted fortress that naturally repelled most curious explorers due to the rumors. One individual however, Seadall, was seemingly compelled to come to the Fortress by a voice. Meanwhile, the Divine Dragon Alear was told by Queen Seforia where the Ring of the Crux of Fate was located and they arrived at the fortress to claim the ring. Corrupted had invaded the fortress forcing a fight. Having found the Ring and encountering the Divine Dragon, Seadall gives Alear the ring, evoking its power and awakening Emblem Corrin.
Fire Emblem Warriors[]
Female Corrin appears as a playable character in Story Mode. Some time prior to the game's start, she suddenly disappeared, causing the siblings of Hoshido and Nohr to blame each other for her disappearance. However in Chapter 13 it is soon revealed that Iago brainwashed her into becoming his servant alongside Ryoma and Xander. After the heroes take down half of Iago's health, Corrin, Xander, and Ryoma are freed from his control and join the battle as NPCS. After his defeat Ryoma and Xander decided to team up, which delights, Corrin knowing that the two families are stronger together. The three stand in shock as they start glowing and witness their Gleamstones emerge.
Personality[]
Corrin is marked by their charismatic and merciful disposition highlighted by their curiosity to the world as their whole upbringing was limited to the Northern Fortress where they grew up. In their youth, Gunter notes that Corrin was rather withdrawn and hesitant, marked by their circumstances of their isolation in the Fortress. It was thanks to a plethora of individuals, most notably the Nohrian royal siblings and their retainers, that Corrin grew up well loved and cared for after their kidnapping that prevented themselves from feeling truly lonely. As a result of their isolated upbringing, Corrin is eager to converse with their allies and proves to be a well meaning listening ear for those who seek them out, much like their Avatar] predecessor, Robin. Corrin has been remarked by Lilith to have a particular charm with animals and is well liked by the horses in the Northern Fortress.
Their biggest boon is their almost immediate trust in others without much need for convincing. It took less than a day in Hoshido from Corrin to immediately begin to question their upbringing in Nohr and had already bonded with the Hoshido royal siblings without ever showing hostility. On several occasions, Corrin refused to give up their trust in the face of otherwise reasonable doubt. If given the option, Corrin will always spare their enemies or at least plead their enemies for a peaceful surrender, seeing conflict as a last resort and are rarely the one to instigate a fight. Despite being advised against such actions by both Xander and Ryoma, both have conceded that Corrin's unwavering trust is what in turn makes them both an inspiring leader and worthy of being trusted themselves. Corrin is far from a perfect leader and often regrets some of the harsher decisions they are forced to make throughout the three routes of Fates, starting from the very chapter where Corrin decides their fate. At times, Corrin harbors intense doubts their qualifications and their actions. They are not above asking for advice and helf if needed, particularly seeking out Xander and Ryoma. Despite their inexperience, both express belief that Corrin is the linchpin that determines the fate of the world.
More than anything, Corrin is held together by their undying love for both their Nohrian and Hoshidan siblings and dreads any and all of the inevitable confrontations against them. In the Birthright and Conquest stories, Corrin will always attempt to spare his enemy siblings if they can and desperately tries to make them come to a friendly accord whenever they can, though this always fails in these routes, leading to inevitable tragedy and heartbreak for Corrin. Revelations highlights this aversion from the very beginning where Corrin is willing to make an enemy of both sides simply to open the path to unity between their adoptive and birth families. As a parent, Corrin has a loving relationship with their child Kana and showed nothing less that righteous fury when they were assailed by invaders. Azura becomes Corrin's other half during the events of Fates as they are literal mirrors of circumstance. The two share a bond almost akin to siblings, which is later revealed that they two are actually cousins, deepening their bond by blood and their respective destinies due to their family origin.
Corrin has shown a wide variety of talents and interests: they are a great piano player, and also enjoy writing poetry and reading about philosophy. However, they have trouble with household basics as they were constantly pampered by their retainers, which caused them to lack such skills. Overall Corrin has a good enough academic background to pass knowledge onto those less literate such as Mozu. They are also extremely observant and use creativity like asking Zola to use his powers to change Azura's appearance fool King Garon in Birthright; forcing Kotaro to reveal his kidnapping of Kagero in Conquest; and deducing a traitor in their army with little to no information in Revelation. Corrin is also shown to have a tendency to oversleep unintentionally. They are considered the one with the most hidden potential in the army.
For the most part, the gender of Corrin does not impact their personality as a whole, however, the male is more laid-back and sweet in his unique supports, while the female is peppier and feisty in hers.
In games after Fates, Corrin is shown to be much more mature and less naïve, though they still retain their friendly demeanor.
Corrin also displays three distinct traits in Birthright, Conquest and Revelation:
Birthright[]
"Just a minute! The following section contains spoilers. Viewing it will cost a lot. Are you prepared to pay for it?"
|
As a result of Mikoto's murder they display aggression towards King Garon, though they dislike the idea of having to fight their former Nohrian siblings. As many unavoidable deaths occur during this route, Corrin grows increasingly hostile and righteous towards Garon, Hans and Iago for their disregard for human lives. At the same time, they grow more resolute in their idealistic beliefs. Elise (later on in the story) comments on how much of a reliable leader they have become ever since they have left Castle Krakenburg. Corrin also has adopted Mikoto's way of thinking, usually trying to end conflicts with as little casualties as possible and only resorting to violence when absolutely necessary. At the end of the route, they are much more reliable and are much stronger from where they have started.
Conquest[]
"Just a minute! The following section contains spoilers. Viewing it will cost a lot. Are you prepared to pay for it?"
|
Corrin displays some regret of choosing their adoptive siblings over their blood family, especially since they are forced to appease Garon in order to gain his trust and learn more about the truth. As the route progresses, they are against killing and are forced to watch as many atrocities occur to the innocent Hoshidans while they are unable to save them, lest they receive Garon's wrath. However, they are pleased to see that their siblings display similar frustrations with Garon's brutal methods, and hope that the conflict can end with as little casualties as they can manage. To this end, Corrin still tries to spare as many Hoshidan lives that they can get away with, including Hinoka and Sakura, and earning the trust of Kaze, and trying to end the war their own way.
Corrin at a certain point of the path starts to doubt If they're truly worthy of Yato. In their supports with Azura in Conquest, they also suffer from nightmares involving the murder of Hoshidans against their will. Corrin also shows a more aggressive side, deciding to kill when they deem it necessary, like with Iago, Hans and Garon. When Iago attempts to kill Corrin for sparing Hinoka, the Nohrian siblings quickly defend them and turn against Iago. Corrin, gaining more confidence in themselves, threatens to kill Iago and Hans, not caring if they are from Nohr, declaring they will punish them for being cowards and traitors and being pleased when Leo finally kills Iago. When Garon is exposed in his true form, he curses Corrin, stating he should have killed them before, but Corrin finally stands up to Garon, calling him out for starting a needless war for his own selfish needs, and tells him how they are not like nor could ever be like Garon and ends his reign of terror by killing him for good.
Revelation[]
"Just a minute! The following section contains spoilers. Viewing it will cost a lot. Are you prepared to pay for it?"
|
Due to the circumstances of the Vallite curse, Corrin struggles to unify the Hoshidan and Nohrian forces to combat the true antagonist of the events of Fates. Despite not being able to outwardly reveal their intentions, their trusting nature will shine much more than in the other two routes, leading every ally into joining their cause even though they do not fully understand the situation Corrin is facing. This has enabled more forgiving, if not kinder, characters to trust Corrin, as they have either seen their kind-hearted nature knowing that they aren't traitors (e.g. Rinkah and Kaze), they can see that they are desperately asking for trust (e.g. Sakura and Ryoma) or through other means of proof that they mean well and are telling the truth (e.g. Leo and Xander). At the end of the route, they are no longer naïve to any deceiving events happening around them (e.g. Mikoto and Gunter) and are more confident in themselves.
In-Game[]
Fire Emblem Fates[]
Boon & Bane Modifiers[]
Corrin's Boon and Bane stats influence their starting stats, growth rates, and maximum stat caps. A Boon significantly bolsters a certain stat and slightly boosts others; conversely, a Bane significantly cripples a certain stat and slightly detriments others. The Boon and Bane's magnitude of influence differs from one stat to another, and so different combinations of Boons and Banes may significantly impact in-game and endgame stats.

Supports[]
Corrin, like their Awakening predecessor, has the ability to form supports with every character in the game. Corrin can also marry (S-Support) with any character of the opposite gender, including characters that cannot marry other characters and children characters (except Kana). Male Corrin can also form an S-Support with Niles and Female Corrin can do the same with Rhajat. Achieving an S-Support will result in Corrin having a child named Kana whose gender is the opposite of Corrin. However, Corrin cannot have Kana if they have a same-sex S-Support. Nina also will not be available with a Niles same-sex S-Support.
It should be noted that if Male Corrin is chosen, there will not be enough first generation female characters who can S-Support with other characters available. Should Male Corrin be paired with any of the bachelorettes, one male unit cannot form an S-Support, thus not all children can be recruited. This can be absolved by having them marry Flora, Reina, Scarlet, Anna, or any of the second generation females.

Base Class[]
Much like their Avatar predecessor, Corrin is a mixed bag given that the player decides their stat Boon and Bane at the beginning of the game, altering their overall growth rates and stat caps, as well as their secondary class. However, as the main Lord of the game, Corrin plays a key role in the story and should not have any difficulties getting sufficient training. They serve as a great supporting unit as their Personal Skill, Supportive, gives any unit they support in battle a 10% hit rate boost as well as a 2 damage increase for their attacks and a 2 damage decrease for incoming damage. Corrin themselves benefits strongly from Felicia, Jakob, and Gunter whose Personal Skills boost specifically Corrin in battle when they are supporting them. Silas also benefits from Corrin's presence on the battlefield as his personal skill activates when they have half their health left during a map, making Corrin a great partner for him.
As a Nohr Prince/Princess, their main two skills in this class are Nobility, which furthers their EXP gain so long as they have it equipped, and Dragon Fang, which not only has a high activation rate, but helps to boost damage to attacks, especially considering that it is the only attack skill learned in a base tier class, meaning they have an attack skill much sooner than most other units. They have two offensive options: Swords and Dragonstones, though the latter will not be available immediately. Because they can use dragonstones, which now deals magic damage, they have the option to exploit the enemy's lower defensive stats, though it lacks range unlike in Awakening. They are the only unit the game that can wield Yato which, unlike most weapons in Fates, has no drawbacks or negative side effects to compensate, aside from the standard Katana Defense and Resistance drops. In fact, as the story progresses in all three routes, it becomes stronger and gains more bonuses. It also is an important weapon in the final battle as it deals 75% damage to enemies with Dragonskin while everyone else's attacks are reduced by half. It should also be noted that Corrin is considered a Dragon Unit, regardless of their current class, and is susceptible to Wyrmslayers, Dragon Spirits, Marth's Falchion, and Lucina's Parallel Falchion. Their children will also inherit this condition.
Corrin has two promotion options: Nohr Noble and Hoshido Noble. The Nohr Noble class is the Nohr promotion and is more focused on a pure offensive skill set including their first class skill Draconic Hex, that drops all stats of all enemies Corrin engages in battle by 4, and Nohrian Trust, which allows them to utilize the battle skills of any support unit. They also gain the ability to use tomes for potentially more magic damage as Dragonstones lack effect diversity and can only attack adjacent enemies. The Hoshido Noble is the Hoshido promotion and is more focused on supportive play highlighted by their new usage of staves. Their skills also supports this with Dragon Ward giving adjacent allies a slight chance to halve all incoming damage and Hoshidan Unity to increase Corrin's skill activation rates. Although the Nohr Noble and Hoshido Noble are restricted to Conquest and Birthright respectively, the player can use both in Revelation, allowing Corrin to choose which role they wish to use.
Secondary Class[]
Corrin's secondary class is determined by the player at the beginning of the game, though Songstress, Villager, Wolfskin, and Kitsune are unavailable. Nevertheless, the player can decide what class will benefit them the most on the playthrough, though all other classes are technically available to Corrin anyways thanks to their special trait mentioned below.
Partner and Friendship Class Options[]
Corrin functions the same as every other unit in the game when it comes to the Partner Seal, allowing their spouse to reclass into Corrin's secondary class. For many characters, Corrin is the only way to access certain classes, and therefore certain skills, making them extremely valuable for distributing specific skills, especially when trying to give Hoshido skills to Nohr units and vice-versa.
Corrin can use Friendship Seals but has the unique trait of being able to use it to gain the class of any same-gender unit that they have formed an A-Support with except for Niles and Rhajat. Corrin essentially has access to all non-special classes assuming that time has been put in to grind Corrin's support levels to give them access. Technically speaking, Corrin has the greatest flexibility options out of the entire cast as a result and has the easiest means of amassing skills in a single playthrough rather than having to play multiple times, pair with different units each time, and update to the Unit Roster like the rest of the cast.
While options can be limited during the Birthright and Conquest routes, the Revelations route allow Corrin access to classes on both sides simultaneously. It should be noted that, in Revelations, female Corrin has access to all classes by default purely through Friendship Seals. Male Corrin however must choose either have the Oni Savage as his secondary class and marry Midori or have the Apothecary as his secondary class and marry Rinkah to do the same.
Inheritance[]
Due to their ability to support every character in the game, Corrin is given many options to help their mandatory child Kana. Male Corrin is able to the the father of Shigure while female Corrin can be the mother of every other child in the game, a trait she shares with Azura, Mozu, and Felicia. is a strong parent for their children on a stat level since the player can tailor Corrin to maximize the performance of Kana and their non-determinate child. Even without a focus, their children grow exceptionally well in general, making Corrin a safe choice to enhance the performance of their children. All of Corrin's children inherit their ability to activate Dragon Veins, increasing their value during story battles as well.
Corrin is the only character that can give the Nohr Prince/Princess and because of this inherited class, Corrin's children are considered Dragon units. In addition, Corrin is often the only means to give the children access to certain non-special classes especially from the opposing nation.

Base Set[]
Male Corrin is a fairly box-cutout standard Sword Infantry unit with a fairly balanced stat spread for a Book I unit. 32 Atk and Spd are certainly workable back in the earlier years of Heroes, but in modern times, he does not have quite enough Atk to deal potent damage to most meta units nor does he have the Spd to avoid follow-up attacks from many aggressive units. His workable mixed bulk scoring 70 physical and 66 magical is not too bad, but not particularly bulky enough to take heavy amounts of punishment when compared to much sturdier walls. While Male Corrin does not excel on his own, he is still a highly important meta unit for one particular reason, and that is the powerful effect of his personal weapon.
Male Corrin packs Yato, which gives him a Darting Blow 2 effect, granting +4 Spd if he initiates combat. Unfortunately he does not get much benefits off of it as he can reach a mere 36 Spd, which is moderate for a Book I unit, but nowhere near the host of Book II+ units who can be at minimum 41, enough to get the Follow-Up threshold. With the Weapon Refinery feature, Yato is completely overhauled, granting a massive +2 to his four core stats and then providing his Ally Support a bonus +4 to their core stats during combat, harkening to his Supportive personal skill in Fates. Not only is this a massive buff to his ally, it also stacks on the existing stat boost normally associated with the Ally Support feature. In essence, if Male Corrin has an S-Rank Support with his Ally Support, that ally gains +6 to their stats during combat. While it may take time to grind him and his ally to this level, he can significantly power-up his ally to devastate their enemies through sheer stat advantage.
He comes with Dragon Fang, a powerful special that works off of a higher Atk stat. With his Respectable neutral 48 Atk, he can unleash moderately powerful attacks. Male Corrin's other skills are more lackluster and are not useful for long term usage. Def +3 gives him a flat 3 Def boost while Obstruct prevents enemies from moving around him to attack allies behind.
Counters[]
Male Corrin does not have as many clear cut weaknesses as his flexibility allows a wide range of builds. For the most part, he can duel most of the competition with proper builds. However, he can do very little against bulky Blues like Effie, Nowi, and Lukas. Even some bulky Reds like Arden and Zelgius ward him off. His only real exploitable stat is his Res which is naturally lower, but at the same time is one of his better banes. Common blue mages like Linde, Reinhardt, and Delthea are the best to exploit this. Finally, his mediocre Spd leaves him vulnerable to fast sword units like Ayra, Mia, and Karla unless he packs Swordbreaker.
Skill Inheritance Options[]
Male Corrin's stats have many applications in terms of builds but most commonly, he is adjusted to be either a speed oriented sword unit or mainly as an Ally Support unit. Reposition or Swap are great supportive options for either build so choosing one or the other is up to the player.
If choosing to go the Speed sword unit route, changing out Yato for a Wo Dao or Slaying Edge will help with his dueling potential by syncing with Special activations for high damage. Moonbow with the former or Luna with the latter achieves this effect. Swift Sparrow gives him more power on initiation in his phase while Fury is a good budget option for sustained boosts at the cost of some health after each battle. Skill B can either be Desperation to give him the ability to have a guaranteed double when low on HP, or Swordbreaker to negate the threat of fast sword enemies and focus on dueling them. Skill C can either be a Threaten skill to boost his combat capabilities or a Hone/Fortify/Spur skill to buff allies.
Going the route of ally support keeps his Refined Yato on hand. He can become a powerful Ally Support buffer by giving his ally the boost from Yato and help from a Drive Skill for his Skill C, either Drive Attack or Drive Speed works nicely to further boost allies as the effect stacks on Yato and has the same range or Distant Guard to give his allies, especially his support unit, a Distant Defense effect. Hone skills also work though Male Corrin does need to reposition himself so that he can give the boost at the start of each turn. Fury boosts his stats so he can be used in a pinch and can help absorb enemy teams that utilize Chill skills. He himself can run Chill Attack to weaken his enemy so his support ally can engage more units safely or accommodate for their primary offensive target stat and run either Chill Defense or Chill Resistance.

Base Set[]
New Year's Corrin is certainly a product of his time and is a decent bulky infantry bow unit. His respectable Book I Atk of 32 can allow him to dish modest damage and his 71 physical bulk means that he can take some punishment better than squishier Book I archers like Klein and Setsuna. Unfortunately, his low Spd leaves him struggling to perform Follow-Up attacks except when functioning as a defensive unit. His Res is also extremely low, leaving him vulnerable to a host of even mediocre mages that have been around since the beginning of Heroes. While he is a free unit that was obtained in Tempest Trials and later through the Heroic Grail features, his returns are dependent on what investments he receives.
Hama Ya carries the standard effectiveness against flying units and also grants essentially a Drive Def 1/Drive Res 1 combination effect, granting Def/Res+2 to allies within two spaces of him during combat. While it has its applications, the overall benefits have not aged well with the much stronger metas that have developed in the 4+ Books since his initial release. It can be refined to boost his stats, of which the Def refine gives him the best overall boost to his already solid physical bulk.
Rally Defense Resistance gives an ally a +3 Def/Res visible buff if he uses his Assist function on them. Atk/Def +2 gives him a flat +2 Atk/Def boost to his base stats, which is okay as a starting skill, but he has much better options that he can inherit. Spur Defense Resistance grants adjacent allies Def/Res+3 during combat.
Counters[]
New Year's Corrin is destroyed easily by magic based units, thus Tomes, Wrathful Staff wielders, and Dragos easily exploit his low magical bulk. He can be easily walled by much better, and stronger, high Def units who can likely take his attacks and retaliate such as Hector or Fallen Hardin. Raventome users like both base forms of Robin, Sophia, and Lyon easily deal with him through their forced color advantage against him.
Skill Inheritance[]
Focusing on New Year Corrin's enemy phase combat is overall the best means to build him as Quick Riposte helps regulate his low Spd since he can score a follow-up attack when he is above 70% HP and his foe initiates combat. Close Counter allows him to expand the range of enemies he can counterattack by allowing him to counterattack melee ranged units. Otherwise, Distant Defense allows him to solidly wall off a decent portion of Bow and Dagger units solidly. Defense Smoke or Attack Smoke allows him to either soften his foe so he can deal more damage, or further cripple foes offense so he can better wall them off.

Base Set[]
As one of the two Blue Dragons introduced from the very start of Heroes alongside Nowi, Female Corrin has had a comfortable position as a rather unassuming, but potentially powerful unit, especially given her ease of access for merges. Her downsides lie in her Book I status however as her stat totals are low and without merges and/or Dragonflowers, she has a low stat spread, especially her low neutral 27 Atk. She does have decent 75 physical bulk and a modest 34 Spd, but many future dragons have far better stat spreads and her future forms have far better stat spreads as well. All hope is not lost for Female Corrin as she can perform surprisingly well under the right circumstances.
Corrin started with Dark Breath+, inflicting a -5 Atk/Spd debuff on foes within two spaces of the one she attacks. While the debuff is a bit slow, it can be useful in softening a unit for another of her allies to dispatch. She later received a new personal weapon, Gloom Breath increases the debuff to -7 Atk/Spd, but this time on foes within two spaces at the start of her turn receive the debuff, allowing herself to use the debuff's effects. When refined, after combat that she attacked, she then inflicts -7 Atk/Spd on foes within two spaces of her opponent. Also she gains boosts to her four core stats equal to the debuffs inflicted on her opponent's four core stats, each stat calculated individually. On her own, Female Corrin can gain essentially a 14 point difference for her Atk/Spd alone, which has incredible effect on her offense.
Draconic Aura increases her Atk by 30%, which is a bit of a small gain. Seal Res inflicts -7 to her foe after combat involving her resolves which is useful for tagging down ranged units for higher damage. Hone Atk gives her adjacent ally +4 Atk at the start of her turn.
Counters[]
Female Corrin lacks solid offensive presence due to her mediocre Atk which does not compliment her good Spd. While she has the physical bulk and Spd combination to mostly negate strong physical attacks, she is vastly weak to many strong bulky Blues and Greens like Hector, Sheena, and Effie. Her biggest weakness is her low Res which makes her an easy target for many powerful Blue and Green Mages like Reinhardt, Delthea, Nino, and Summer Elise. Finally, as a Dragon, she has a natural weakness to Dragon effective weapons. Falchions, Breath of Fog, and a refined Binding Blade does deal significant damage to her, but her color advantage does allow her to survive the attack sometimes and retaliate before going down. Julia and Deirdre are her two hardest counters with Naga and Divine Naga tomes as they have Dragon effectiveness and the color advantage over her.
Skill Inheritance Options[]
Regardless of her final build, Female Corrin should take Reposition or Swap for her Support skill, giving her utility when repositioning units. Aether is perhaps her best special to both increase her damage while giving her self-sustain. She has methods to accelerate the lengthy cooldown, so those who are willing to give her premium skills can find decent success. Her Def gives her better damage output from Bonfire than Draconic Aura while Sol gives her self-sustain, trading off some damage for higher regeneration.
If working with her Gloom Breath to make her a debuffer, she should take Distant Counter to increase her defensive counterattack options or Steady Breath to increase her Def while accelerating her Special cooldown. Special Spiral helps her to further accelerate her Special cooldown by keeping it constantly charged or Windsweep to use her decent Spd to poke out her opponents. Swordbreaker also works to help her check sword units who she has a color advantage over. Res Smoke is great for boosting her overall damage output by lowering her opponent's Res. In tandem with her refined breath, she gains +7 Res herself. Alternatively Def Smoke can work as well as the added physical bulk increases her damage output for those wishing to use Bonfire.
Female Corrin sometimes works better with Lighting Breath+ for its Distant Counter properties as she can make the most out of her role as an enemy phase unit that way. Warding Breath helps to patch her low Res when attacked while accelerating her Special Cooldown while Fierce Breath increases her Atk which is generally far more important for her in dealing moderate damage. While Quick Riposte compliments this build and is a solid option, Wrath helps to patch her low Atk by giving her Special attacks more power when it activates.

Base Set[]
Legendary Female Corrin emerges as another Colorless Infantry Dragon boasting a statline that many units can only dream of, especially her base form. A solid 38 Atk and 40 Spd gives her solid offensive capabilities, especially with a Atk asset which brings it to 42 without her weapon. She also scores well defensively at 75 physical and 70 magical bulk. Overall, Legendary Female Corrin has incredible capabilities for damage, but some may be deceived by her impressive defensive capabilities as well.
Primordial Breath has a special acceleration effect as well as the standard adaptive damage when battling ranged units. If her foe initiates combat on her, she gains +5 to her four core stats and also slows her foe's special cooldown per attack. Unless they have it already primed, Legendary Female Corrin's resilience make her incredibly difficult to burst down.
Her unique special is Negating Fang, which reduces her foe's attack by 30% and then upon her next attack, she gains a 30% Atk increase. In tandem with her weapon, Legendary Female Corrin can unleash incredible damage, effectively counterattacking her foe with an Atk of nearly 70 for a neutral version barring any sort of buffs from other units such as Legendary Azura.
Distant Counter ensures that she can counterattack all foes of any range and secure the adaptive damage, making ranged units less of an option for dealing with her. Shield Pulse accelerates her special cooldown on turn 1 as it is considered a defensive special despite being linked to an offensive special. Joint Drive Attack provides a +4 Atk boost to herself and her allies so long as she is within two spaces of an ally and vice versa.
Counters[]
Despite her strengths, Legendary Female Corrin has her clear weakness by the virtue of being a Dragon unit. She is exceptionally vulnerable to Falchions, Naga tomes, Naga herself and her allies that receive her Divine Fang buff, and Breath of Fog. Legendary Marth is exceptionally potent as a counter as he can outright prevent her from counterattacking, thus only getting the damage reduction off her special, but not the counterattack power boost. Units who can inflict a colorless disadvantage over her like both Robins, Sophia, and Lyon, can severely reduce her power, and if they have Naga's Divine Fang buff, has the strongest damage output on her as a result.
Skill Inheritance[]
Legendary Female Corrin's base kit is flawless and already prepared for immediate use, though taking a positional assist, namely Reposition, is advised to fill her only empty slot. Pulse Smoke further hampers her foes from getting to their Special. Some may opt to replace Negating Fang for Sol or Noontime as she has enough bulk that simply giving her sustain instead of reduction makes her just as bulky if not more. If choosing this route, replacing Shield Pulse with other great defensive skills like Null Follow-Up, Lull Attack Speed, or Lull Attack Resistance give better synergy with her offensive special.

Base Set[]
Accompanied by Elise and dressed in Ninja garb, Ninja Female Corrin is a powerful offensive force that easily destroys foes through sheer damage output through the Ninja Festival unit standard builds. 41 Atk and 40 Spd gives her incredible damage output and can easily score follow-up attacks naturally. Because she is heavily inclined for offense, her mixed bulk suffers as a 61 physical and 58 magical bulk score means that she is not likely to survive a fight she does not outright win and her foe is able to counterattack/survive until their turn. Despite this, the benefits of her offensive capabilities far exceed the detriment of her low bulk, thus caution should be taken when facing her as she can obliterate anyone who is careless in approach. In addition, as the winner of the A Hero Rises 2022 event, she is a free character that everyone is gifted, thus is an offensive boon for anyone who lacked her in their barracks before.
Ninjutsu Scrolls gives her an innate +4 Spd to her base stats, bringing her to 44 neutral Spd and exchanges this for -4 Def/Res, thus further reducing her bulk to abysmal levels. She has a Brave weapon effect, allowing her to attack twice if she initiates combat and can even quad attack if she meets the follow-up threshold. Finally, if her Spd is greater than her foes, she adds 70% of the difference between the two, maximizing at +7. Since this the standard of Ninja Festival units, her stats overall compliment an all-out offensive playstyle thus her skills are built to accomplish this.
Her Duo skill grants herself an immediate turn of action once activated. It can be used once per map battle, thus it can be used to continue an offensive push or retreat to safety after a brutal battle or out of nearby enemies.
Rally Up Def+ grants a visible Def+6 to the ally she uses this support skill on as well as allies within two spaces of her for 1 turn. Atk/Spd Push 4 grants Ninja Female Corrin an Atk/Spd+7 boost during combat if she begins battle with at least 25% of her maximum HP. If she does attack/counterattack, she takes 5 non-fatal recoil damage. Speed Resistance Far Trace inflicts Spd/Res-3 to her foes during combat, complimenting her weapon's best traits of giving her more opportunities to get follow-up attacks and weakening their magical bulk even further. It also gives her【Canto (Rem.)】, allowing her to use up any remaining movement she did not use after combat or destroying a structure. Joint Drive Attack gives any ally within two spaces of her during combat a +4 Atk buff and gives herself the same buff if there is an ally within two spaces of her at the start of combat.
Counters[]
Ninja Female Corrin is at her weakest during her opponent's turn as she loses the brave effect of her Tome and only relies on her natural Spd to her advantage. Most units can just outright kill her if they are the one to score the first attack on her before she can. High Res Reds like Winter Altina, Plumeria, and Flora can easily withstand her attacks and through their often one and only counterattack, can instantly fell her unless she has her Special already charged beforehand, thus in some cases she can overcome this, but only a few are dramatically affected if this occurs. Transformed, Fallen Edelgard also easily deals with her both in baiting her out or initiating combat on her.
Skill Inheritance[]
Ninja Female Corrin's only empty slot is her Special, which Moonbow helps nicely to expand on the number of magically bulky units she can finish off. A positional assist, namely Reposition generally has more benefits in the outcome of a battle rather than the visible buffs of her Rally skill.

Other appearances[]
—Corrin's introduction blurb.
Corrin (Kamui in the Japanese version), in their default Nohr Prince/Princess class appearances in Fates, made their first appearance in the Smash series as DLC characters in Smash 4. Nobunaga Shimazaki and Cam Clarke reprise their roles as Male Corrin, while Satomi Sato and Marcella Lentz-Pope reprise their roles as Female Corrin.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U[]
—Corrin's Aliases on Punch-Out stage.
Corrin is a DLC newcomer character in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, and they were released internationally alongside Bayonetta on February 3, 2016, 16 days before the Fire Emblem Fates games were released in America and three months before their release in Europe and Australia. Like Roy in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Corrin's inclusion in the roster was only to promote their home game. Furthermore, like Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Robin, Corrin can be played as either a male or a female.
Corrin's main weapon is their signature sword, the Yato, in its Omega form. As in Fire Emblem Fates, Corrin's unique trait revolves around their ability to shift parts of their bodies into their dragon forms, a reference to the attack animations of the Dragon Fang skill. Several of their standard moves are also references to various attacks in the Nohr Prince/Princess class such as their animation for Luna being their dash attack. For some of their smash attacks and their side special, they transform their arms into spear-like appendages, dealing extra damage if they strike an opponent with the tip of the spear. Their forward smash is unique as they can deal damage to opponents directly in front of them as they charge it since they hold the Yato blade slightly in front of them, allowing the rotating blades to strike an enemy.
Unlike other DLC newcomers, there is no exclusive new stage to download alongside Corrin; however, two new songs, the original and an arranged version of the main theme of Fire Emblem Fates, "Lost in Thoughts All Alone," are added to the Coliseum and Castle Siege stages instead, and two other trophies of their foster older brother Xander and their older step-brother Ryoma from Fire Emblem Fates are added only in the Nintendo 3DS version. Much like Robin, Corrin's design can be customized in the debut games, though uses the default design in the Super Smash Bros. series.
Corrin is one of the heaviest middleweights, being heavier than Luigi, Villager, and a lightest possible Mii Fighter, lighter than Lucario, Cloud, Mega Man and Shulk, while having the same weight as Mario and Dr. Mario.
Corrin can use the Sword, Cape, and Shoes equipment. They are the only Fire Emblem character who do not use Boots for equipment.

Palutena's Guidance[]
Corrin has the same stock conversation as the other downloadable fighters: Mewtwo, Lucas, Roy, Ryu, Cloud, and Bayonetta.
- Pit: Who is THAT?
- Palutena: I have no data on this fighter. I can't believe it!
- Viridi: It must be an intruder from another dimension!
- Pit: Whoever it is, the goal remains the same: to fight and win!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
Corrin returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As with Smash 4, Corrin is playable in both their default Male and Female appearances. Corrin's moveset is largely unchanged, but the third hit of their standard attack is now an outward slash, their pummel is a knee kick, and their back aerial has a greater push effect. Corrin benefits from universal changes: their mobility is faster, their short hop timing is reduced, their aerial attacks' landing lag is reduced, they can directionally air dodge, and they can use any ground attack out of a run and any aerial attack on ladders. Corrin's special moves all have more startup, ending, and landing lag, while they either have less range or grant less height than before. Corrin's forward smash is also slower and shorter in range, in spite of its charging hits dealing more damage. Some of Corrin's attacks deal less damage as well. Additionally, Corrin's victory theme is now a short arrangement of "Lost in Thoughts All Alone", rather than the generic Fire Emblem victory fanfare.
Corrin's Classic Mode route is titled "Between White and Black." It involves fighting characters in white and black colored alternate costumes (except if they are colored as such by default), as well as Corrin themselves. This represents the conflict between Nohr and Hoshido in Fire Emblem Fates.
The Palutena's Guidance discussion on Corrin was changed to a unique one, rather than the discussion used for downloadable fighters.

amiibo[]
- Corrin appears in Fire Emblem Fates game. Born in kingdom of Hoshido but kidnapped by Nohr at a young age, Corrin was brought up by Nohrian royalty. Descended from the First Dragons, Corrin has the power to transform into a dragon.
Super Smash Blog bio[]
- Corrin was available as a downloadable fighter in the previous version of Super Smash Bros. This fighter uses all kinds of attacks, like Torrential Roar and Dragon Fang Shot. Players can choose male or female versions!
Special Moveset[]
- Neutral Special: Dragon Fang Shot: Corrin's arm is transformed into a set of fangs that fires a chargeable water ball, but cannot be stockpiled. Enemies hit by this projectile are temporarily paralyzed. Corrin's hand also transforms during this move, biting any enemies within 1 character length of Corrin after launching this move. The projectile is larger and travels farther and the bite is also stronger and has higher knockback the longer this move is charged.
- Side Special: Dragon Lunge: Corrin performs a short hop if used on the ground. If Corrin uses Dragon Lunge during this move or while in the air, they will transform their arm into a lance and stab in a downward diagonal angle away from Corrin. If the stab connects with terrain including the floor, walls, or even crates and barrels, Corrin will temporarily suspend themselves in the air. If an enemy is hit during the terrain stab, they will be temporarily pinned. From their suspended position, Corrin can either perform a forward or reverse kick if the player pushes their control stick forward or backwards respectively, jump by pressing up, or cancel by pressing nothing. Like all of Corrin's lance moves, Corrin will deal more damage if the enemy is struck by the tip of their lance.
- Up Special: Dragon Ascent: Corrin sprouts their wings and launches themselves vertically. The move has a wide attack range and will carry any enemies that makes contact with the move upward with them. Corrin's flightpath using this move can be altered before the move is executed. With no input, the upward momentum is slightly higher than their standard jump. Pressing towards the direction they are facing will give the move more speed and horizontal movement at a slight cost of some vertical height. Pressing the opposite direction they are facing doubles the vertical height with no horizontal movement.
- Down Special: Counter Surge: Corrin transforms into their dragon form and counters an incoming attack by stomping on the ground, causing a small surge of water to erupt underneath them, dealing a minimum of 10% damage with a multiplier of x1.2 (originally x1.3 from patch 1.1.4). However, the knockback of this move launches the enemy vertically, rather than horizontally like the rest of the Fire Emblem cast. It also hits on both sides, making it capable of hitting multiple opponents at once. Another unique property is that the counter is that Corrin evades the attack when performing it, meaning that attacks can go through the counter, hitting other opponents behind them before receiving the counter damage.
- Final Smash: Torrential Roar: Corrin stabs the ground, causing a current a third the distance of Final Destination around them to erupt with a burst of water, dealing 5% damage to all those who are hit by the move. Corrin then transforms into their dragon form to catch opponents, followed by a huge torrent of water from their mouth that blows any character caught in the Final Smash away and dealing 35% damage.
Palutena's Guidance[]
- Pit: For Nohr! For Hoshido! I make my own fate!
- Palutena: Sounds like someone finally finished all three paths.
- Viridi: When you're fighting Corrin, watch out for Dragon Fang. Corrin transforms into a dragon to attack. It's not pretty.
- Palutena: Corrin has led a rough life. Having to make enemies of your family can't be easy...
- Viridi: As they say, "blood is thicker than water." But they also say "A close friend is better than a distant relative," so I dunno.
- Pit: But all the siblings have dragon blood in their veins, right? Why can't they just be one big, happy family?
- Palutena: ...If only it were that simple.
- Viridi: You're thinking about it too hard. The roots may be more important than the branches, but you need the branches to...uh...get the fruit. Or whatever.
Fire Emblem 0 (Cipher)[]
Corrin is illustrated in the trading card game Fire Emblem Cipher with the following cards:
Uses[]
- Male
Male Corrin walks the path of the Dawn Dragon in Cipher, and as such is mostly Hoshidan, though with a couple Nohrian cards similar to his female counterpart. His Series 2 HN, S2N, and S3N are all mirrors of Female Corrin's corresponding cards, with Nohr where Female Corrin says Hoshido and vice versa. His Starter Deck Exclusive is also very similar to its counterpart in that it provides decent support with a Skill that adds 10 ATK to all Units while you control at least four Units, but is aimed towards battling Black cards for its second Skill. His Series 2 SR allows the player to either freely Deploy an extra Cost 2 or lower Unit and then add 30 ATK to all Units for the turn or destroy an enemy Unit and add one Hoshidan card from the Retreat to the hand. However, like Female Corrin, this card has high costs, so players should be careful about Skill spamming. His Series 3 SR allows you to freely destroy an enemy Unit by Tapping himself and 2 other Units instead of Reversing Bonds, but he can then Untap if the other Units Tapped were both Hoshidan. He also has a +40 vs Dragons, but only if you have a White Bond. Overall, Male Corrin does a good job of showing off Hoshido's finest abilities, and, unlike his female counterpart, has a decent Promotional Exclusive that can gain extra attack for every Hoshidan card you control.
- Female
Female Corrin walks the path of the Dusk Dragon in Cipher, mainly appearing as part of Nohr's Black cards, focused mainly on wiping huge numbers of enemy Units at a time, but also appearing as Hoshidan White cards to a lesser degree. Her Series 2 HN card allows her to also be treated as a Hoshidan card while on the Field, showcasing her duality as Corrin character, but it also reflects her choice of Nohr, as she gains a little extra attack while you have at least two Black Bonds. Her Series 2 N card isn't great and should be avoided, as it requires Azura to be on the Field or else you suffer a penalty of Reversing one Bond when she is Deployed. Her S2SR card has heavy destructive capabilities, with one Skill allowing her to automatically destroy any three enemy Units that aren't the Main Character, and one Skill increasing all allied Units' ATK by 20 until the end of your opponent's next turn, as well as then gaining 1-2 Range. Both Skills are rather high-cost, however, so players should be careful about spamming Skills. Her Series 3 N card reflects her Revelation-Path choice, increasing her attack slightly while you have both Black and White Bonds. Her Series 3 SR also reflects Revelation by having a Black card bonus/requirement on both her Skills, with her first Skill automatically Deploying a free Cost 3 or lower Unit from the Retreat and then Untapping her if the Deployed Unit was a Black card, and her +40 vs Dragon Units only being active while you have a Black Bond. Her Starter Deck Exclusive provides decent support as it moves an enemy Rearguard Unit to the Vanguard when she defeats a foe, but overall it's rather forcibly aimed at battling White decks, as its second Skill requires her to be attacking a White card. Overall, Female Corrin does an excellent job of showcasing the best of the Nohrian cards' strategies, with exception of her Promotional Exclusive, which only has one Skill that requires your opponent's only Unit to be their Main Character, making primarily for collectors attempting to collect all the Promotional cards so they can show off their complete set.
In the end, both Corrins' cards are excellent for their respective colors, but - along with the majority of other cards in their respective colors - seem to be designed specifically to fight with/against each other to a degree not many Cipher colors have.

Etymology[]
Corrin (/kɔɹɪn/) may be a variation of Corin which is the French variant of Quirinus. Quirinus was the Sabines god of war. This could be a reference to the conflict between Hoshido and Nohr in which Corrin is caught in the middle of. Quirinus is also derived from the Sabine word quirus, which means "spear." Corin is also a male Irish name meaning 'spear bearer', further referencing how Corrin is forced to take up arms by circumstances.
Quirinus was also an epithet of Janus, the two-faced Roman god of beginnings, transitions, doors and endings. This two-faced nature could represent Corrin's dual nature as Royalty of both Hoshido and Nohr, and the role of presiding over the beginning and end of conflict, hence war and peace, is a part of Fates' story. It is also notable that "Quirinus" is phonetically similar to Kirin, which is a variant spelling of "Qilin"; this was a mythical, cloven-hoofed, two-horned beast that was prominent in Eastern Asian culture and which Corrin's dragon form strongly resembles.
Corrin may also be a variation of Corinne which is, in turn, the English and French variant of Corinna. It derives itself from the Greek word κόρη (kore), meaning "maiden." In Greek mythology, this is the epithet of Persephone, who was kidnapped from her mother, Demeter, by Hades to become his wife. This may be reflective of the Corrin's own kidnapping from their family at the hands of King Garon. Also, after Persephone was kidnapped, Demeter, who was the goddess of the harvest, neglected her duties in her search for her daughter, resulting in poor crop harvests and harsh weather. Interestingly, these are exactly the same conditions that Nohr, the kingdom in which Corrin is raised in, is subjugated to.
Kamui is the word for a divine being in Ainu mythology, although it is almost never written with kanji in modern times. Kamui is also a Japanese word; in a more general Japanese context, Kamui refers to the might and majesty of the gods, particularly the Shintō Kami. This is more to tie Corrin's roots to the Hoshido kingdom which is based on feudal Japan. This may also be a reference to Corrin being the offspring of a powerful deity-like being in the form of Anankos.
Corinna is also the name of a Greek Lyric Poet from the 5th century BCE. It fell into common usage following the 17th century poem "Corinna's going a-Maying" by Robert Herrick, whilst Corrine did not become popular until Madame de Staël's 19th century novel of the same name. This may be another reference to Nohr as it is based on 5th to 19th century Europe.
Corinth is the name of the Greek city in which Oedipus was raised. Oedipus was a prince in Greek legend who was born as the prince of Thebes but raised as the prince of Corinth, who shares a similar story to that of Corrin, having been prophesied to kill his own birth father and become king of the land of his birth, as Corrin does in Revelation.
Trivia[]
- Both Corrin's official artwork depicts them wielding Yato.
- In the English and Japanese versions of the game, Corrin shares their voices with other characters.
- Male Corrin shares his English voice with Arthur, Hinata, and Anankos' human form and Yuri Lowenthal with Ricken from Awakening, Kiragi and Marth.
- Female Corrin shares her English voice actresses Marcella Lentz-Pope with Scarlet, Danielle Judovits with Mitama, Female Kana, and Lilith and Stephanie Lemelin with Rinkah and Reina.
- Marcella Lentz-Pope is the only voice actor of an Avatar who is not the Avatar 1 voice option in their native game, yet is the definitive voice actor of said character in all subsequent appearances.
- Both Corrins share their Japanese voice actors, Nobunaga Shimazaki and Satomi Sato, with both genders of Kana.
- If Corrin is male, there will be an equal amount of male and female royal siblings (5 males and 5 females). However, if Corrin is female, the majority amount of royal siblings will be female (4 males and 6 females).
- Corrin is the series' first non-human protagonist.
- Corrin's dragon form may be based off of the Qilin, a Chinese dragon that has deer-like antlers and the body/hooves of a deer, ox or horse.
- Male Corrin in Fates is the second male unit in the series capable of wielding Dragonstones, after Bantu.
- Both genders of Corrin are the only Avatar characters as well as Lord characters that are able to use Dragonstones.
- Female Corrin has the ability to reclass into every single class through Friendship Seals in Revelations and has the ability naturally. Male Corrin cannot do so as the Oni Savage and Apothecary class is unavailable through Friendship Seals for him. To have access to all classes for him, he must either have Apothecary as his secondary class and marry Rinkah or have Oni Savage as his secondary class and marry Midori to have access to all classes in a single playthrough.
- Rhajat implies in her Japanese support with Corrin that they are Robin's previous incarnation, and that she is a previous incarnation of Tharja and so she promised to fall for them at first sight and love them eternally.
- Corrin's default name in the Japanese version is shared with Kamui from Fire Emblem Gaiden and its remake, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
- The original official artwork of Female Corrin shows her having two left feet. This is most likely an overlooked error. The artwork on the official website was later modified to show the correct feet.
- According to Kozaki, Corrin was given bare feet due to the animalistic impression he had after hearing of their strong ties to dragons, along with creating a "hook" for players equivalent to other characters in the game.
- Depictions of Male Corrin in marketing and other media typically depict him as a Hoshido Noble while Female Corrin is a Nohr Noble. This holds true for the box art of Fire Emblem Fates Birthright (featuring Male Corrin) and Conquest (featuring Female Corrin). These depictions are carried over into Fire Emblem Heroes and Fire Emblem Warriors as well, where Male and Female Corrin bear default classes aligning them respectively with Hoshido and Nohr.
- In the Cipher trading card game, Male Corrin is often shown as a Hoshido Noble, while Female Corrin is often shown as a Nohr Noble. In third series of the trading card game, the master cards of Male Corrin depict him as a Nohr Noble and Female Corrin is depicted as a Hoshido Noble.
- In both the second and third series of Fates' characters in the Cipher trading card game, Male Corrin is always shown with his Hoshido siblings, and Female Corrin is always with her Nohr siblings. This alignment holds true even for cards that depict the siblings as classes otherwise exclusive to their rival nation.
- In Fire Emblem Warriors, Female Corrin promotes into a Nohr Noble while Male Corrin promotes into a Hoshido Noble. Both versions have DLC costumes that swap their respective national representation.
- This alignment also holds true for both genders of Kana in the Heirs of Fate DLC - Female Kana (Male Corrin's daughter) follows Hoshidan characters, uses Noble/Blazing Yato and is a Hoshido Noble in later parts, while Male Kana (Female Corrin's son) follows Nohrian characters, uses Grim/Shadow Yato and is a Nohr Noble in later parts.
- In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the Male Corrin Amiibo unlocks Alight (Storm), a Hoshidan-aligned music, while the Female Corrin Amiibo unlocks A Dark Fall (Fire), a Nohrian-aligned music.
- Corrin is the first Lord character and Avatar in the series to have a branching promotion from their base class, though only in the Revelation route.
- Female Corrin came in 1st in the Nintendo Official Popularity Poll for females while Male Corrin came in 5th for males.
- Corrin came 3rd in the character popularity poll issued by Nintendo Dream.
- Female Corrin of Fates is the only Avatar in the series to place first in an official popularity poll.
- Female Corrin came in 5th for females in the Fire Emblem Heroes Choose Your Legends popularity poll. She had 19,599 total votes. Male Corrin came in 21st place for males and had 7,691 total votes.
- In The Making of Fire Emblem 25th Anniversary Book early concept art show that Corrin at one point was going to have the Nohrian royal color scheme but was scrapped for the black and silver color scheme instead. This early concept also depicted Corrin with longer ears similar in length to Tiki's.
- The designer and development team apparently had trouble deciding Corrin's hair color; white hair was their first choice but was changed to black (which they likely inherited from their mother Mikoto) before reverting back to the original default hair color.
- With 89 in-game support conversations (69 normal/romantic supports and 20 children supports), Female Corrin has the highest number of unique conversations out of all characters in Fates and the Fire Emblem franchise as a whole.
- Corrin is the only first-party DLC Newcomer in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
- They are also the only DLC character with gender variants.
- They are the only Fire Emblem representative to not enter a stage via a Warp circle.
- While Fates was released in Japan prior to Corrin's release, Corrin is one of the few characters to debut in Smash internationally prior to their flagship game's release; Marth, Roy, and Lucas are the others.
- Female Corrin's tights were altered in Smash 4 to cover her inner thighs, likely to maintain Smash 4's ESRB rating of E10+.
- Despite her change in Smash 4, her Fates' official artwork is still unchanged in Ultimate. This is most likely an oversight.
- Male Corrin can have an S-Support with the also Male Niles, while Female Corrin can S-Support the also Female Rhajat. This makes them the first lead characters of the series who can potentially marry characters of the same gender.
- Unlike the Japanese version, the English version supports between both genders are identical to one another.
- Corrin has three unique critical quotes depending on which route you take.
- This makes Corrin the only character in Fates with more than 4 critical quotes.
- This also makes them the only Avatar units and Lord units with more than 4 critical quotes.
- This makes Corrin the only character in Fates with more than 4 critical quotes.
- Corrin has the most retainers out of both royal families, having 5. They are Felicia, Flora, Jakob, Gunter and Kaze (if an A-Support is achieved.)
- Due to the passing of some of these characters, Corrin can have at most three retainers as Gunter does not appear at all in Birthright, Flora will not join the Hoshidan Army and commits suicide in Birthright and Kaze will sacrifice himself if A support (at least) is not obtained in Birthright. So in Birthright, Corrin can have Jakob, Felicia, and possibly Kaze. And in Conquest and Revelation, they can have Jakob, Felicia, Kaze, Gunter and Flora as retainers.
- The eyebrows of both Male and Female Corrin will always be black regardless of what hair color the player chooses.
- The Fire Emblem Fates Drama CD reveals that Female Corrin is afraid of bugs.
- Super Smash Bros. amiibo figures for both genders of Corrin were announced on December 15, 2015 but didn't release to retail until July 21, 2017. The Corrin amiibo, as well as the Bayonetta and Cloud amiibo, hold the current record for the the longest period between an amiibo figure's initial announcement and subsequent retail release.
- The female version of Corrin (Nohrian Summer) is the winner of the fifth Voting Gauntlet (Battle at the Beach) in Fire Emblem Heroes. This victory also made her the first Avatar unit to have won the Voting Gauntlet.
- Unlike the other royal siblings, Corrin shares a critical quote, "This ends now!", with only one of their retainers, that being Gunter. They also shares that quote with Kana.
- Furthermore, Corrin also shares the phrase "You won't stop me!" and "I won't surrender!" with Kana, due to being parent and child. However, regardless of path chosen, Kana does not use any phrases such as "For Hoshido!", "For Nohr!", and "I make my own fate!".
- In Heroes, both Corrin are the only Avatar units, as well as the only Lord units, to not appear in any of the main story chapters. However, this is no longer the case as of May 10th 2019, as the Wailing Soul Female Corrin is an enemy in Book 3.
- In Warriors, Female Corrin is the only Avatar unit to have a Gleamstone, as well as the only female member of the roster to bear one in general.
- Corrin is the only fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U whose alternate trophy replicates game artwork in both games.
