—Dalsin
Dalsin is a playable character from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. A 20 year old knight of Munster, he is tasked with guarding its dungeon by Raydrik. Dalsin has a younger brother named Yubel.
Profile[]
Dalsin first appears in Chapter 4, where Raydrik tasks him with guarding the dungeon Leif is interred in. Shortly after Leif is broken out of prison by the Magi Squad, Dalsin, while attempting to stop his escape, learns that the prince had saved his brother Yubel, who had been captured in the child hunting organized by the Loptr Church. He then resolves to defect to Leif's army.
Dalsin then goes on to continue supporting Leif in his cause to liberate Northern Thracia from the Grannvale Empire. Dalsin returns to Munster thereafter, where he personally requests to be posted to Fort Kelves. He then goes on to reform Fort Kelves, transforming its reputation as a place comparable to hell to one that is safer than even heaven itself.
Personality[]
Due to Dalsin's limited characterization, not much is known about him. But from what little screen-time he is given, it can be inferred that he is a family-oriented man, prioritizing their safety and happiness over his own country. This is shown through his lack of hesitation in betraying Munster after he learns that it had abducted his brother Yubel as part of the Loptous Church's child hunting efforts.

Armor Knights are notoriously bad in Fire Emblem, and Dalsin seems like he would suffer the same fate. However, despite his class’s weaknesses, Dalsin is better than he appears, making meaningful contributions during the Munster Escape chapters. Unfortunately, beyond that, he quickly becomes dead weight, struggling with mobility, terrible matchups, and severe competition.
Dalsin has some surprising strengths that make him useful during Chapters 4-5:
- With a Battle Axe, Dalsin can one-round enemy Mages, making him an effective mage killer. However, his hit rates are unreliable, requiring careful planning.
- Indoors, Dalsin’s low movement is less of an issue, as he can keep up with most of your army.
- His high Con allows him to reposition Ced in Chapter 4x, helping set up strategies to manage the enemy reinforcements.
Once you escape Munster, Dalsin’s viability plummets due to a combination of factors:
- The game is filled with effective weaponry (Rapiers, Armorslayers, Hammers), making Dalsin a prime target for many enemies.
- Once mounted units start dominating the game, Dalsin’s poor movement becomes a massive liability.
- His high Con, which was an asset for rescuing others, now becomes a problem—most units cannot rescue him, making it difficult to reposition him.
- If the player somehow trains him, Dalsin is still completely outclassed by Xavier, who has better stats and weapon ranks.
At this point, most players simply leave him behind in Chapter 5/6, as keeping him around requires stalling and extra effort for little payoff.
Dalsin is a decent early-game unit, particularly useful in the Munster Escape chapters, where his strong combat against Mages and solid indoor movement gives him a niche. However, once past Chapter 5, he becomes a liability due to armor-effective weaponry, poor movement, and a lack of long-term potential. While he’s one of the better early-game units, he’s ultimately a temporary fighter who gets left behind before he can contribute to the long run.
Ending[]
- Dalsin - Knight of Unwavering Resolve (熱き情熱の男, Atsuki jōnetsu no otoko)
- Determined to protect everyday folk from bandits, Dalsin relocated to Kerberos' Gate, near where his siblings lived. He maintained a round the-clock watch, fighting off brigands every day and night. For a time, his life was a cycle of battle. But before long, the bandit gangs that had long plagued the area around the fort were all but wiped out. Once said to be a place "more terrible than Hell itself," the fort was now called "more safe than the gates of Heaven.
