The Dark Dragon (あんこくりゅう Ankokuryuu, translated Shadow Dragon in some fan translations) is both a type of Dragon and a class in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem and its remake. Interestingly, the artwork of it in the TCG depicts it as a serpent, while Medeus' appearance in both versions of Mystery of the Emblem is a more traditional dragon with six appendages, two wings and four legs.
Profile
Dark Dragon is the class Medeus has after being revived by Gharnef at the end of Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem.
While not an actual unit, Loptyr's spirit summoned by the Loptyr tome in the later game Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War appears to be a Dark Dragon as well.
It is also the class of Gerxel, the final boss of TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga. Rather than starting as a member of the Earth Dragon tribe or a dragon at all, the Dark Dragon in TearRing Saga is the result of a xenophobic human drinking the blood of the Divine Dragon Miradona and gaining God-like power.

Notes
It's unclear if Dark Dragons are a form unique to Earth Dragons or something all powerful Dragons can achieve. TearRing Saga would seem to suggest the latter interpretation, if it is to be considered canon to the Fire Emblem series.
