“You...you beat Bern's wyvern riders!? Ergh...I'll not let you pass!”
—Devias

Devias is the Boss of Chapter 7 of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.

Devias is a traitor of Ostia, and thus of all of Lycia. A former Lieutenant, Devias was a high-ranking member of the Ostian army; however, upon Bern's invasion of Lyica, he joined General Leygance who was forming a rebellion in Ostia. The members of the rebelling force believed Ostia (and all of Lycia) should surrender to Bern instead of fighting them.

Devias is Leygance's second in command of the rebellious forces. When Roy and company arrived in the city of Ostia (which lay just outside Castle Ostia in the territory of Ostia) Devias led a rebel force against them with help from a handful of Bern's Wyvern Riders. He dies defending the gate of Castle Ostia.

Personality[]

Devias is extremely loyal to Leygance, giving his life for him in the rebel's battle to defend Castle Ostia from Roy's forces and the llian Mercenaries that joined in the attack. He is a somewhat fearful man in that he seemed somewhat afraid of fighting Roy's forces after seeing them defeat the Bern Wyvern Riders. Devias also knows Bors and will have a battle conversation with him if Bors is made to fight him.

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

Compared to the other Knight bosses the player has faced up to this point, Devias is not much different aside from his much more powerful weapon: the Spear. It has high power, a decent Critical Hit chance, and like a regular Javelin, has the ability to attack at range. Fortunately, Devias can be taken care of in a similar manner to Rude and Slater. Weapons that deal bonus damage against Armored units will be helpful as always, although the Hammer may still prove to be rather inaccurate. Mages and other ranged attackers are a riskier gamble, but they should still be more than fast enough to double attack Devias.

Quotes[]

VS. Bors[]

  • Devias: Bors! You returned!
  • Bors: Causing a rebellion after Lord Hector's death?! That is inexcusable!

Death Quote[]

“General Leygance... Please be cautious... These people are...powerful...”
—Devias' death quote

Trivia[]

  • Interestingly and fittingly, his name sounds similar to the word "Devious."
