“The revived corpse of a dragon. Its putrid breath decays all it touches.”
—In game description from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Draco Zombies (ドラゴンゾンビ, called Dragon Zombies in the Japanese versions, Dゾンビ, D Zombie in Gaiden) are undead dragons brought back from the dead by dark magic. They originally appeared in Fire Emblem Gaiden, as powerful monster enemies. Despite Gaiden being in continuity with the Akaneia Series, Draco Zombies are the only dragons to feature, their presence unexplained.

They would later reappear in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, where instead of biting, they attack with the breath attack Wretched Air. When Lyon (possessed by the Demon King) journeyed to the Black Temple, he was confronted by Morva, who was not fooled by the Demon King's disguise. In an attempt to stop him, Morva was defeated and turned into a Draco Zombie. Despite this, however, his class is still Manakete, not Draco Zombie. The true Draco Zombies only appear during the main story in the final chapter, though they also appear in the tenth floor of the Lagdou Ruins. Draco Zombies can be considered the hardest monster enemy in the game.

Tactics

In The Sacred Stones, a Draco Zombie is vulnerable to Bows and S-level weapons. A good ploy for the 10th floor of the Lagdou Ruins is to lure a Draco Zombie into your reach with a Phantom, so that you don't have to move far and come within grasp of the other Draco Zombies.

Another known tactic is to equip Purge with a Bishop or two and rain death upon the Draco Zombies from a far and safe distance, which will easily kill off most of the beasts, if not all; the only flaw in this plan is that Purge has low Durability, and will break after only five uses.

A third tactic is to give a Lance wielder or an Axe wielder their respective Dragon weapons, then lure them in with a fast evader and then go in for the kill; however, it is riskier than the other two as Draco Zombies have defense-piercing attacks and a weapon with 100% hit rate.

A fast and effective, but rather expensive and specified tactic is to use five bow wielders (requires at least two of three of Ross, Garcia and Gerik to promote to a bow-user) and attack with Brave Bows simultaneously. Those in peril can be healed, then the other five can be taken down slowly.
