+ | The Shapeshifting Dragon Units comes in two forms; the Manakete and Dragon tribe Laguz. The Manaketes are a race of shapeshifters that have existed from the very first Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, and have appeared in some form in nearly all Fire Emblem games since. Most are known for their extremely high base stats and strong growths, but are limited to using Dragonstones which tend to come in limited quantities and are the only means to spur their transformations. Since Fire Emblem Awakening, all members of the Manakete race retains their weakness to anti-dragon weapons even if they are reclassed out of the Manakete or Nohr Prince/ss related classes. Even children of these units retain this special condition. |

+ | The Dragon tribe Laguz are a different race of shapeshifting units that exists in the Tellius Series. While they share the same ability to transformation, they are able to transform without the assistance of a Dragonstone. However, an untrained Dragon tribe Laguz must gain the energy to transform and cannot maintain their Dragon form for long. Once they have mastered their transformation, they can retain their form for an extended period of time without requiring to revert to their human forms. A Laguz Stone helps an untrained Dragon tribe Laguz to return to their Dragon forms quicker. Like the Manaketes, they have extremely strong growth rates and base stats, though they are extremely vulnerable and weak if they are in their Human forms. |
− | In Fire Emblem Fates, |
+ | In Fire Emblem Fates, Corrin is part human and dragon. While the royal families of Hoshido and Nohr have dragon blood in them, the Avatar's is more pronounced, as they are able to transform into a dragon, much like a Manakete. The Dragonstone and its plus variant provide defensive bonuses at the cost of other skills, and deals magical damage. |
In both Awakening and in Fates, children of Manaketes or the Fates Avatar inherit their parent's draconic origins, permanently giving them the Dragon Unit status, even if they are not in their Manakete or Nohr Prince/ss related classes. |

Dragon Unit is a designation of various classes that are weak to anti-dragon weapons.
Overview
Dragon Units fall under two classifications; the Wyvern-mounted units and the shapeshifter Dragon units. Both classifications are very different from each other, but they share a common weakness to anti-dragon weapons, most notably the Wyrmslayer, a sword designed to rend the solid scales of dragons.
Wyvern Units
The Wyvern mounted units are related to the Wyvern Rider class and its promotions. Wyverns are wild dragons that are often tamed as battle mounts. Wyverns are notorious for their vicious nature but are also known to be fiercely loyal to those who have earned their respect. They are also a Flying Unit and operates differently from the Pegasus Knight lines across the series in terms of their stats. Wyvern Riders tend to be much slower and less resistant than Pegasus Knights, but are offset by strong Strength and Defensive growths. As an Aerial Units, they are unaffected by terrain penalties and effects, even Lava.
Shapeshifting Dragon Units
The Shapeshifting Dragon Units comes in two forms; the Manakete and Dragon tribe Laguz.
The Dragon tribe Laguz are a different race of shapeshifting units that exists in the Tellius Series.
In Fire Emblem Fates, Corrin is part human and dragon.

Although the Earth Dragon is a transformed Manakete, it is only vulnerable to the Falchion and is thus treated differently for the purposes of the weapons table below.

Fire Emblem Gaiden
Applicable classes
Here is a list of dragon units:
Effective Weapons
There are no specific anti-dragon weapons in Gaiden, but the dragons within the game are weak to anti-monster weapons.
Here is a table of the anti-monster weapon(s):

Blessed Sword | 1 | 3 | 100% | 15% | 1 | - | Restores 5 HP each turn. |
Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
Applicable Classes
Here is a list of dragon classes:
Playable classes |
Enemy-only classes
Unused class |
The dragon classes may be accessed by a Manakete using a compatible stone such as a Firestone to turn into a Fire Dragon for a certain amount of turns before reverting.
Dragon Units have their defense taken into account for Breath attacks unlike other units. Additionally all Dragon units, barring Manaketes, attack with Breath, though the weight of the weapon renders them unable to double attack.
Although the Earth and Dark Dragons are transformed Manaketes, they are only vulnerable to the Falchion and are thus treated differently for the purposes of the weapons table below.

Degenerated Dragons are different from Manaketes in that they are permanently in their dragon form. Their movement may be altered depending on their dragon form (e.g., wyverns have high movement and can fly over terrain). Unlike Manaketes, they can achieve a maximum of 30 points in every stat. Degenerated Dragons attack with unbreakable breath weapons which are 1-2 range on hard mode. The Dark Dragon class has stats above 30 points and uses an unbreakable 1~2-range breath attack.
