Dragonskin is a Skill that debuted in Fire Emblem Awakening.
Contents
Overview[]
Dragonskin halves all damage taken by the user and also prevents opposing units from activating Counter or Lethality. It is used by Grima on all difficulties in the Final Chapter and in The Future Past 3. Validar will have this skill starting from Hard Mode and up. All enemy units in Xenologue 22 will have this skill equipped as well.
In Fates, Dragonskin also reduces the effect of critical hits and offensive skills, as well as preventing all damage outside of battle. It is used by Anankos and the human vessels he possesses.
In Fates, all final forms of the Yato (Blazing, Shadow, Omega) will deal 3/4 damage instead of 1/2 damage to units with Dragonskin.
In Heroes, it is the unique Skill A of Fell Vessel Robin and prevents weapons with flying effective damage from inflicting said bonus damage.
In Three Houses, the skill appears under the name Ancient Dragonskin, carried by certain monster-classified bosses. Besides halving damage and negating instant death, this variation of the skill also nullifies status conditions (save for paralysis caused by Armor Break) and prevents the holder from being forcibly moved.

Trivia[]
- In Mystery of the Emblem, Medeus and all enemy Earth Dragons are protected by a similar effect to Dragonskin, which halves the attack power of all enemies. This effect is also given by Loptous to Julius in Genealogy of the Holy War.
- Unlike most skills that appear in both Awakening and Fates, Dragonskin has different skill icons between the games.
- An item appearing in TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga, Holy Dragon's Scales, is known by the name "Dragon Skin" in some versions of Utna Heroes Saga fan translations. The Dragon Mail, another item appearing in Utna Heroes Saga, is closer to this skill in effect and use, halving incoming damage and being used by Gerxel, the game's final boss.
