Edessa

Edessa is a location in northeastern Ilia featured in Chapter 20A: The Liberation of Ilia of Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi. Castle Edessa serves as Ilia's capital and was formerly the headquarters of the Ilian mercenary knights (led by Zelots) and Ilia's Pegasus Knight squads. When Bern invaded Ilia, Castle Edessa was captured in Zelots' absence and served as a base of operations for General Murdock of Bern. After General Murdock left for more pressing matters in Bern, the traitorous Etrurian advisor Roartz was put in charge of this vital stronghold in anticipation of an attack by Roy and the Etrurian Army.
