Overview[]

Enlightened One is a capable sword fighter that can provide great support to adjacent allies. Due to having access to magic they are able to heal ally units and back off from enemies and take them out it range if need be. In addition, their ability to wield every type of weapon in the game (skill level notwithstanding), makes them extremely versatile and adaptable. Swordfaire complements Byleth's newly-enhanced Sword of the Creator perfectly, and when White Tomefaire is combined with Nosferatu and White Magic Avoid +20, learned by unlocking Byleth's Budding Talent in Faith, it makes them an effective defensive fighter. The Enlightened One's mastery skill Sacred Power also provides buffs to damage dealt and withstood to anyone who's near them; additionally this can be stacked with Byleth's personal skill, Professor's Guidance, to earn extra Exp.

In terms of growth rates, however, the Enlightened One class is mainly a jack-of-all-trades. While none of Byleth's growth rates suffer any penalties while in the class, there are several other classes that give greater growth bonuses to various stats. The Enlightened One class does provide a 10% boost to both Strength and Magic, but other classes tend to provide stronger growths in specialized categories, even if some of them suffer from penalties. As such, leveling Byleth as an Enlightened One may not be in the player's best interests, and other classes should be used when building up Byleth's stats, depending on what the player wants.
