“Five years after Rhea's disappearance, a letter that she wrote prior to that battle has surfaced. The mysterious message raises more questions than it answers...”
—Opening Narration

Eternal Guardian is Rhea's Paralogue Chapter in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This chapter takes place in the Holy Tomb, and is available on all routes except Crimson Flower.

Story[]

A letter is found in Rhea's quarters, addressed to Byleth and written at some point during the preparations to defend Garreg Mach Monastery from the Imperial attack in 1180. In it, she informs Byleth that she has hidden away a treasure for them to find within the Holy Tomb, but warns them that she has also set a trap within the tomb to ward off would-be thieves. Byleth investigates the tomb and, after their force confronts and deals with Rhea's trap, they recover the Seiros Shield.

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

As far as Hard Mode goes, the Altered Golems are content to patrol their areas unless a mage is with their attack range, the bosses are immobile, and the rest of the enemies generally won't advance unless you're within their attack radius. But it's worthwhile to kill off most of the nearby opposition before you commit yourself towards picking a fight with the Altered Golem that's the closest to the starting point...Or just take potshots at it from the balcony with a Bow Knight. There's also a mage or two equipped with Bolting in the central portion of the map, that can severely damage your weaker units.

The Altered Golem's barrier drops a random amount of Mythril when broken, meaning this is a good chance to use gambits and quickly forge strong weapons like the Hauteclere or Mercurius.

But other than that, consider this a freebie if you have ranged attacks to use against the generals.

Trivia[]

  • Eternal Guardian is the only Paralogue in which the character key to the Paralogue, Rhea, is not playable, and in fact not present at all, save for her letter to Byleth.
