Evade is a combat stat of that influences a defending unit's probability of successfully avoiding a weapon, magic, or staff-based hit. It is a subtotal value that is used in conjunction with several other factors, such as the attacking unit's hit rate or weapon triangle effects, to determine the attacking unit's overall battle accuracy.

Overview[]

Evasion calculations are based on various factors influencing the defending unit. Such factors often include the defender's Attack Speed or luck, but they can vary between titles. The following calculations consider only factors that would influence a character's combat stat that is often labeled "evade" or "avoid." External factors, such as those from weapon triangle effects, are considered in calculations for the overall battle accuracy.

In Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light[]

Physical evade rate

Evade Rate = (AS) + (Terr)
AS = Defending unit's attack speed
Terr = Modifier from defending unit's terrain tile

Magical evade rate

Evade Rate = (Lck)
Lck = Defending unit's luck
