Expeditions are a social mechanic in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.
Overview[]
Similar to the tea parties in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, expeditions are a social activity in which the player, as Shez, may invite another member of their force present in the base camp to participate. Excpeditions cost one activity point, and to participate, Shez must share a Support level of at least C with the desired participant. Occasionally, after a battle, the player may be notified that a specific character wishes to go on an expedition.
Expeditions begin with Shez choosing a destination, and they and their invited guest will travel there by horseback. Once they have arrived, they will find a place to relax and engage in a conversation. Like tea party conversations, Shez's guest can make comments to which they must pick an appropriate response. If they pick the most appropriate response three times, they will score a perfect conversation, which results in a greater Support boost, as well as a slight increase to both Shez's and the other participant's Charm. Like tea parties, if the player manages a perfect result, they will also be rewarded with a chance to examine Shez's guest from various angles, complete with three lines of dialogue.
While the Plains are the default option to go on Expeditions, specific upgrades in the Recreation tab of the Facility Manager allows to expand the options for new scenery for Expeditions, allowing to venture to the Forest, the Waterfront, and the Mountains.
Encounters[]
After the player has had at least one Expedition with any given unit, going on an Expedition with them again can have a special event noted as a Encounter as they arrive at the dismount point of their travel, with Encounters marked as a exclamation mark in a golden rhombus. Picking the right choice results in a bonus Support boost.
Conversation Time[]
In a change of pace how conversations worked in tea parties, one is not restricted to a 15 second timer. During this time, the player may allow their invited unit to Talk, making them say up to 8 randomized statements, giving you three options to pick, with one correct option. If you have gone on an Expedition with a unit before, the first Talk option will have the incorrect choices get an additional text box that hovers over them.
Picking Ask a Question will bring up 6 possible topics you can ask them, also giving you three options to pick.
