MariaTran

Maria (マリア) is the youngest member of the royal family of Macedon and the younger sister of Michalis and Minerva in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, and Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem.

As Dolhr rose to power, Michalis murders the siblings' father, King Osmond. Maria, being unaware of the true nature of her father's death at the time of Michalis' coronation, supports his ascension to the throne. After Michalis seizes control of Macedon, he approaches Maria, explaining to her that Macedon would face a crisis if Dolhr does not feel that Macedon is truly allied with them. Michalis' solution is for Maria to become Dolhr hostage. Despite being a child, Maria agrees, trying to protect the citizens of Macedon and please her older brother. Michalis, however, has lied to her, as his primary reason for imprisoning Maria is to keep his younger sister Minerva in control. During the war itself, Minerva secretly reaches out to Marth via her subordinates and convinces him to rescue Maria from Castle Deil, earning him the loyalty of both Macedon royal sisters.
