The Fire Mage is a combat magical class that is introduced in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. This class is one of three split branches of the original Mage class, solely wielding Fire magic as its weapon of choice.

History in the Series

In its original inception in Genealogy of the Holy War, the Fire Mage class is a variant of the classic Mage class that specializes in Fire Magic. The class is enemy exclusive, though it implied they have similar class change options as the other mages.

The splitting of the Mage class is not repeated again until Radiant Dawn, replaced instead by the Fire, Thunder and Wind variants. This version of the Fire Mage class (炎魔道士ファイアーマージ Faiā māji) promotes into the Fire Sage class, and can further promote into the Archsage class when the necessary requirements are met.

Overview

Combat

In Genealogy of the Holy War, as a trade-off for their lack of versatility, Fire Mages can use B-rank Fire Magic (ignoring holy blood bonuses) instead of the usual C-rank limit for generalist Mages. There are no recruitable Fire Mages, and the class is thus regarded as an enemy-exclusive one.

In Radiant Dawn, the Fire Mage similarly acts as an enemy-exclusive class, as the two characters who may have originally been Fire Mages, Tormod and Calill, start out as promoted Fire Sages. Fire Mage still promotes to Fire Sage within the game if hacked to be playable.
