A stone used to transform into a fire dragon.
The Firestone (火竜石, ファイアストン, Fire Dragonstone in the fan translations) is the most basic dragonstone used by Manakete class characters and, mostly, enemies. It allows them to take the form of a Fire Dragon, which grants numerous statistical bonuses to enable the normally feeble Manaketes to fight quite effectively, but usually not as effectively as other dragon forms.

The Firestone (火竜石 Karyūseki, lit. Fire Dragon Stone) is a Dragonstone that recurs across the Fire Emblem Series. Functioning as the most basic Dragonstone principally employed by units aligned to the Manakete class, the Firestone is infused with the compressed power of a Fire Dragon. When used, this stone allows a Manakete to assume the form of a Fire Dragon, granting them numerous statistical bonuses that enable them to engage in combat in the process.
In Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi, two can be obtained, (one comes from the village in Chapter 5, and the other is dropped from an enemy), and the only playable Manakete who can use them is Bantu. The Firestone has infinite durability in this appearance. However, in Shadow Dragon and Mystery of the Emblem they can be used by any Manakete. Though in the latter, Tiki will have slightly lower stats as a Fire Dragon.

In Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, the only playable Manakete who can harness the energy contained within the Firestone is Bantu. The Firestone has infinite durability in this appearance. In its subsequent remakes, this lock is lifted, permitting any Manakete to employ them for combat purposes.
In Binding Blade, it is an enemy only weapon, and as such it cannot be obtained normally, although any Manakete can use it. It has infinite durability.

In The Binding Blade, the Firestone is an enemy-only weapon, and cannot be obtained under ordinary circumstances. If the player succeeds in acquiring one through the method outlined below, then they will find that it can be used by Fae, although the animations involved are hilariously glitchy.
Notably, in every game it appears in, except Mystery of the Emblem, where it is treated as an item, the Firestone is treated as a weapon.

“A stone used to transform into a fire dragon.”
—In-game description, Shadow Dragon and Shin Monshō

The Firestone (火竜石 Karyūseki, lit. Fire Dragon Stone) is a Dragonstone that recurs across the Fire Emblem Series. Functioning as the most basic Dragonstone principally employed by units aligned to the Manakete class, the Firestone is infused with the compressed power of a Fire Dragon. When used, this stone allows a Manakete to assume the form of a Fire Dragon, granting them numerous statistical bonuses that enable them to engage in combat in the process.

In The Binding Blade, the Firestone is an enemy-only weapon, and cannot be obtained under ordinary circumstances. If the player succeeds in acquiring one through the method outlined below, then they will find that it can be used by Fae, although the animations involved are hilariously glitchy.

Notably, in almost every game that the Firestone appears in, it is treated as a weapon. The exception to this rule is Mystery of the Emblem, where the stone is instead regarded as an item.
