Profile[]

Fogado is the First Prince of Solm, the son of its current Queen, Seforia, and younger brother of the crown Princess Timerra. Due to his sister being destined to rule Solm in the future, Fogado lived a rather carefree life, free to do as he pleased. He became a traveler in Solm, often finding himself in all corners of the nation. While maintaining his carefree exterior, in secret, Fogado began traveling to better learn about Solm's terrain so he could protect it better. Desiring to help the people of Solm, Fogado became a member of the Sentinels, a vigilante group of Solm dedicated to protecting the citizens.

Fell Xenologue[]

In an alternative Elyos, Fogado led a group of assassins known as the Watchers, who were well known for their bloodlust and brutality on the battlefield, which distanced himself from his family.

Fogado aided the Divine Dragon army against Sombron until both of his retainers and his mother died in battle, leaving his sister as his only family, whom he abandoned after she took the throne.

Eventually, the loss of his loved ones caused Fogado to snap, leading him to become more sadistic and villainous. He raised and led a large pack of corrupted wolves and developed a desire to kill anyone he’d like, including Timerra and anyone else he ever cared about. After the main timeline Alear is summoned to Lythos castle, Fogado is hired to steal the Bracelet of the Shepherd Exalt while dawning a cloak to hide his appearance, he wields the Bracelet of the Ancestor and send his wolves to attack them. He is later defeated and drops his Bracelet as he retreats.

It is eventually revealed that all of the royals had died in battle, including Fogado, and that most of the continent consists of Corrupted.

At a Solmic temple, after Nel tries to save Alear from Nil, Nil summons a horde of Corrupted, led by Fogado and Hortensia, both now fully aware of their Corrupted state, and are ordered to kill Alear’s army. Fogado is given the Bracelet of the Lonely Heir and uses its power to constantly summon Corrupted to fend off the army, only to be defeated a second time and the Bracelet collected.

After Nil has collected the Seven Emblem Bracelets, He resurrects Fogado a second time, along with the other royals. Fogado is given the Bracelet of the Ancestor again, only to be defeated once more to collect the Bracelet. He then finally dies, accepting his fate.

Personality[]

Light-hearted and carefree, Fogado earnestly lives life to the fullest in service to his kingdom. He can be absent-minded in formalities, neglecting to inform Alear and their forces of his actual royal title until he returned to Solm Castle and only after the guards welcomed him back by his full title. He is generous in compliments and sees the best qualities in people without comparing them to others.

He's more serious than he lets on, however, and tries to keep it secret, wanting to prove a positive and stress-free influence on his people. Contrary to his carefree attitude, Fogado is fiercely protective of Solm and his family as he often uses his guise as a carefree prince to carefully study the land so he can be prepared to defend it at a moment's notice. He secretly struggles with anxiety and fear of losing anyone at times, as shown in his support with Pandreo.

Fell Xenologue Fogado[]

Fell Fogado maintains his main counterpart's levity, albeit with a much more sadistic manner. He is not at all disturbed by the fact that he is a Corrupted, even finding it liberating. He makes no secret of his role as the hooded assailant and blatantly declares his homicidal intentions towards friends, family, and foe alike. It can be surmised that he is not particularly close to his version of Timerra, even declaring that he regrets not being the one to have killed her to her main timeline counterpart.

Overall[]

Secret Book (Artwork)
Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

Fogado is the last of the three bow specialists to join the party, and has reasonable bases in Dexterity and Speed to be able to double most slower opponents with good accuracy. Notably, he is also the only bow user with a reasonable starting Magic base and growth, making him the best user of the Radiant Bow, whose very high Might will allow him to kill Fliers with relative impunity despite coming off his weaker attacking stat. He is let down however by his somewhat lackluster Strength, due in part due to the poor bases of Sentinel, and his Personal Skill, Charmer, is incredibly situational since it requires Fogado either be initiated on or have him attack the same foe twice with the help of Seadall or the Goddess Dance. The benefit lower's his foe's crit chance, which in particular is severely limited to high Speed units.

His starting class promotes into the unique Cupido, giving him access to swords. Unfortunately, the class continues to suffer from a low Strength base, being tied for the worst among advanced classes, and neither its unique class skill Back at You or the sword access dramatically improve his effectiveness, largely relegating him to the role of a 6-move Cavalry able to snipe fliers. Though this is still a valuable niche due to the prevalence of fliers, particularly in the next few chapters, Fogado can be reasonably well served by a class change for improved strength. In particular, Warrior benefits from his bow proficiency by letting him wield A-rank bows such as the Silver Bow, on top of allow him to Chain Attack.

As a mounted bow unit, Fogado's Emblem Ring choices are somewhat restrictive. The Ring of the Lady of the Plains is as always a strong offensive ring on him, though he does not receive any Covert bonuses due to being mounted. If he is wielding a Radiant Bow, none of the magic-based rings are particularly suited for him, with The Ring of the Caring Princess being the only one to provide Strength and Magic but being otherwise based around tomes, and the Ring of the Instructor having poor synergy with his mounted bow playstyle. If he is wielding a regular bow, the Ring of the Azure Twins or any other strength-based ring such as the Ring of the Young Lion are acceptable on him.

Overall, Fogado does not standout much when compared to the numerous strong characters recruited around the same time, but makes for a solid replacement for an army lacking a strong Bow unit due to his massive range mainly. Bow units become more useful in starting around the time of his recruitment due to the high number of Flying units around that time. Otherwise, Fogado does not particularly outstrip any of his competitors nor does he fall behind in any manner either in this regard, making him a nice option if and when needed.

Etymology[]

Fogado derives from Affogato, an Italian dessert which involves pouring black coffee on a scoop of ice cream or gelato. Added to that, it may also refer to the Portuguese word 'fogo', which means fire, mirroring his sister's naming pattern related to an Italian dessert and a Latin word related to a natural element.

Trivia[]

  • Fogado shares his English voice actor, Zeno Robinson, with Ross from Sacred Stones and Zihark from the Tellius Series as they appear in Heroes.
  • Fogado's ring size, according to the Ally Notebook, is 9 | R 3/4.
  • In the Japanese version, Fogado is stated in both Bond supports and his Ally Notebook profile to have a dislike for swimming, as he does not know how to swim. Every instance of this in the English version is changed to him not knowing how to fish instead.
  • In the Swimming activity on the Somniel, Fogado is the only character to not swim in the pool, instead standing at the edge of the water and cheering his partner on.
