—Framme during her support with Alear.
Framme is a playable character from Fire Emblem Engage.
Profile[]
Born to a family of priests, Framme is a 33rd generation Steward of the Dragon, protecting the Divine Dragon in the Holy Land of Lythos.
Since a young age, she has lived away from her parents and hometown, being in and out of the Somniel to watch over the slumbering Alear. As a steward, she has been tasked to defend them together with her predecessor Vander, and her older twin brother, Clanne.
Personality[]
Framme is a high-spirited young girl who worships Alear with a passion. While eager to please the Divine Dragon, she is often starstruck by the littlest things they do and freely expresses her amazement for them doing something as mundane as drinking water. Nonetheless, her devotion is true and has stated that she would frequently talk to Alear while they slept, not knowing if they would wake up during her time. She has a strong relationship with her twin brother and the two are the self-appointed presidents of the Divine Dragon Club. On the battlefield, she is usually the one cheering on the Divine Dragon the hardest and encourages other people devoted to Alear to give similar energy.
For all her cheer and passion, Framme is careless with her duties at times and by her own admission is scatter-brained. She feels insecure of her position as a result and is downtrodden whenever she makes mistakes. Likewise she feels bad when told her cheering distracts Alear during their training. Nonetheless, she takes advice to heart and strives to meet Vander's expectations of her and become a proper steward for the Divine Dragon.

Framme is the first unit of the game capable of using staffs, and the only unit capable of doing so without reclassing until Jean can be recruited, giving her an important niche as the early healer and user of Chain Guard. Her Personal Skill, Crimson Cheer, also encourages this supporting role by giving her and Alear +10 Avoid during combat when the two are adjacent, always a useful bonus. Outside of this role, however, she starts off quite weak - her low base Magic and very low base Strength coupled with the low Might of her starting Iron-Body Art means she will frequently be doing 0 damage to enemies she attacks, potentially making her unable to Break tomes, bows, and daggers that would otherwise be vulnerable to her. Her acceptable growths in Dexterity and especially Speed means she can somewhat scale, but even this is offset by her atrocious starting Build and growth of 0%. Dealing damage with Framme will be problematic without considerable investment.
Framme's immediate promotion path is Martial Master - although it keeps her access to staves and lets her wield S-rank Arts, her middling Strength and Magic means she can still struggle to deal significant damage without a major level advantage, and she is generally outclassed as a healer by Jean and later Hortensia. The class does, however, make for by far the best abuser of sources of true damage due to Arts' inherent brave effect and light weight, potentially giving Framme a niche as a single-target nuke if the effort and setup are considered. Otherwise, players may instead consider turning her into a dedicated physical or magical unit with promotions such as Wyvern Knight, Sage or Mage Knight to take advantage of her speed and min-max her for a more focused role.
For Emblem Rings, the Ring of the Dawn Maiden lets her utilize her Magic early with tomes, alongside granting her increased range on her staffs, and additionally, thanks to Healing Light, allows her to heal off chip damage on herself while healing others, which is very helpful for restoring the use of her Chain Guard. If she is not later reclassed, the Ring of the Azure Twins can have an interesting application in letting her deal extra bonus damage thanks to Solar Brace and Bravery, which will stack quickly due to most Arts scrolls causing the user to attack twice, and can also make very good use of the Deirdre Bond Ring to be able to abuse Chain Guard every turn thanks to the extra healing. Other than this, her preferred rings depend on what she is reclassed to.
As the early healer, Framme has a critical niche that makes her invaluable for the early game and much of the mid game as well, being able to support with Chain Guard on the side for enemy phase contributions. Outside of this role, she generally does not have long-term prospects due to her poor offensive potential outside of true damage stacking.
When DLC is considered, Framme can become a versatile support-focused character through Enchanter, giving her access to the Convoy. The Ring of the Dawn Maiden on top of the class itself allows Framme to heal through Item Surge, apply buffs through Weapon Surge, leverage the various uses of staves such as Fracture and Entrap, all whilst allowing her to attack with tomes. Thanks to Convoy access, she can swiftly change her approach. For defensive purposes, the Bracelet of the Ancestor's Lifesphere synergizes well with what's detailed previously, allowing Framme to self-heal and thus utilize Chain Guards every other turn without outside support.
