“Heavy and hard to wield, but cast iron, so you don't really need to clean it.”
—In-game description from Fates.

The Frying Pan is an Axe that first appeared in Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem, later reappearing in Fire Emblem Fates.

In New Mystery of the Emblem, it is a common prize from Everyone's Conditions, with the Frying Pan being evidently the weakest axe available in the game. This is in line with its role as a cooking utensil, rendering it impractical to be used as a combat weapon. The Frying Pan is analogous to the Obtuse Sword, the Laundry Pole, the Toy Bow and Ember, all of which function as "joke" weapons and are ill-suited for effective combat.

In Fates, the Frying Pan returns, and, while still weak, does have a higher hit rate than most other Axes appearing in the game.

Trivia[]

  • The Frying Pan in New Mystery of the Emblem is the weakest Axe in the Fire Emblem series, tied with the Ladle, and the Carp Streamer. In Fates, the Frying Pan does have a higher Might than its previous incarnation, affording it some form of usefulness over its predecessor.
