Gamble is a skill that debuted in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.

History in the Series[]

When activated, this skill doubles the Critical rate of its user, alongside halving their Hit Rate. It can be used by any unit it is assigned to during battle instead of a standard attack.

This skill is often equipped onto Swordmasters and Snipers wielding weapons with high Critical rates, essentially granting them a 100% critical hit rate with a fairly accurate Hit Rate.

In Awakening, Gamble decreases its user's Hit rate by 5 points and increases their Critical rate by 10. It is learned by Level 10 Barbarians.

In Fates, the skill (Roundhouse in the Japanese version) now has an equal trade-off, with it now having -10 Hit rate and +10 Critical rate. It is a Nohrian skill, being learned by Fighters at Level 10 or higher.

Trivia[]

  • It would have made more sense for Makalov to start out with Gamble and Kieran to join with Tempest, given the former's addiction to gambling and the latter's hotblooded nature.
    • However, Kieran having Gamble still makes sense, as he constantly puts himself in life-threatening situations, such as during his supports with Rhys.
