Overall
Garret can be overshadowed by a well trained Geese or Gonzalez, and the low accuracy of axes does not support his skill and luck rating at all. His strength is rather average as well. However, his Wind Affinity helps him find some good supports with units like Geese and Lilina, whom also have offensive affinities to double up the power boosts.
His hard mode bonuses make him a bit more useful, bringing his skill up to average and making his luck decent, but still a bit lacking in speed. He has the highest base HP in the game, so he is very good at sponging hits. Such makes him a good supporter for units whom might be struggling to power past the tougher units, like Lilina. All in all, Garret is not the best card in the deck, but play him right, and he can definitely be a good support character.
Ending
- Garret - Retired Outlaw (歴戦の狂戦士 Rekisen no kyō senshi, Veteran Berserker)
- "Garret quit banditry and led the life of a farmer. He worked and tended his crops like an ordinary citizen and lived in peace. After the war, he never picked up his axe again."
Etymology
Given how the Elibe games rely on Le Mort d'Arthur and Le Chanson de Roland for names, it is very likely that his name is a corruption of Gareth, a knight of the Round Table.
Trivia
- According to a Japanese gaming news website, Garret landed 61st place out of 80 in the character popularity poll for Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.
