Etymology
Gomer means "complete" in Hebrew. It is most commonly attributed to the prostitute in the book of Hosea named Gomer, whom God commanded Hosea to marry in attempt to allegorically illustrate man's recurrent unfaithfulness to God. However, it was also the name of a grandson of Noah. [1]
