—Hayden
Hayden (ヘイデン Heiden) is the king of Frelia and the father of Innes and Tana in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Due to his friendship with King Fado, he grants Princess Eirika shelter in Frelia's capital, but ends up later in lending Eirika's troupe some help in her cause to find her brother Ephraim. Sometime during the war, Hayden sent his elder son, Innes, to lead the fight against Grado. After the twins of Renais are reunited and Grado's true goal is revealed, he is last seen giving the party advice and supplies, then sends Innes and Eirika to warn Jehanna and Rausten, while Ephraim plans to march towards Grado's capital directly.
After meeting him for the first time in the game, King Hayden will provide the party with 5,000 gold, adds Vanessa, Gilliam and Moulder to the ranks, and the convoy to manage your items.
As a Ranger, he can be gained through the Creature Campaign. Coincidentally, he is the only unlockable character who doesn't die during the story.
The game describes him as the venerable Sage King, suggesting that he is wise and honorable, rather than referring the class he is playable as.

You'd really expect a Ranger to have better Speed than him. He's mediocre without any stat boosting items. Again, anyone else is quite a bit better than him. Use someone, anyone else for your bow user.

Etymology
The name 'Hayden' means 'hay valley,' coming from the Old English words 'heg' meaning 'hay' and 'denu' meaning 'valley.'
