Profile

Book II

Though they may not make their physical appearance for now, Hel is the ruler of the land of the dead. In Xenologue 4, Hel was heard from Surtr after his ultimate demise. Hel then tells Surtr that he cannot resign himself to fate, for he cannot best death. Then, when Surtr responds to Hel that the Order of Heroes might oppose death, Hel responded back that its next task is to kill the members of the Order.

Etymology

In Norse Mythology, Hel is the daughter of Loki and is the ruler of the land of the dead, which is named after her and occasionally called "Helheim".
