Hero Merit is a game mechanic in Fire Emblem Heroes.

Overview[]

Hero Merit is an indicator of how often a player has utilized a specific Hero in the various game modes of Fire Emblem Heroes. Generally this is limited to modes that feature basic map battles such as Story Battles, Arena Duel, and Tempest Trials. Arena Assault only allows Hero Merit to be gained on the very first run of the mode per day. Tap Battle: Illusory Dungeon is the only non-battle mode that earns Hero Merit.

Each time a Hero is fielded in an applicable mode, and they survive the battle, that Hero gains a fixed amount of Hero Merits depending on the difficulty of the battle and/or the number of enemies fought/defeated. Most cap at 5 Hero Merit after battle, however Forging Bonds allows up to 9.20 points per battle. Heroes loaned from another player in game modes such as Rival Domains and Voting Gauntlet do not earn Hero Merit for the player even if the player owns a copy of said Hero.

Earning Hero Merit rewards players with 500 Hero Feathers every time has earned an interval of 500 Hero Merit (i.e. 500, 1000, 1500, etc.) Once this milestone is reached, the character will appear on the Home Screen showered in Hero Feathers. Players can stockpile these earnings until the character is tapped, redeeming all currently earned Hero Feathers for that Hero. From launch, the Hero Merit Cap was 3,000. As of Book VII, this cap is 9,000. Once the cap is reached, the character can still be used in battle like normal, but no further Hero Merit/Hero Feathers can be earned via this method.
