Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

The Dragon's Vein changes the movement of flying and land units. Whenever the player activates them, all ground units will gain half of their base movement in addition to whatever movement they currently have, and reduce the movement of all fliers by half. Whenever Hinoka activates it, the opposite effect occurs. You can take advantage of the fact that her DV will wear off after two turns. You can position your land units closer to Setsuna's party the turn Hinoka's DV is in effect and sweep her team once it wears off as you regain normal movement.

The enemy forces have both air and ground units. On the ground, there are plenty of Onmyojis and Oni Chieftains, while the aerial units consist of Falcon and Kinshi Knights.

On higher difficulties, Azama possesses a Hexing Rod. This has a large range and may prove to be a problem if he hits your combat units. On Lunatic Mode, Azama will get a second Hexing Rod which further dampens the player's progress.

Hinoka can be a considerably tricky boss to defeat, since her stats will be typically superior compared to the player's and will most likely be able to double your units. On all difficulties, she comes with Wing Shield, which prevents bows from dealing bonus damage onto her. She does, however, have no means of retaliating back on Normal difficulty. On Hard, she gets Luna and Darting Blow and the ability to retaliate back with a Bolt Naginata. However, the player can still manipulate her into using it while having stronger units nearby, as she will be unable to use Sol and Luna while equipped with it. On Lunatic, this is impossible to avoid as her Silver Naginata is turned into a Silver Nageyari, which she will most likely favor using in battle.

Once she is defeated, clear out the Oni Chieftain that was supporting her and seize the gate tile to complete the mission. Note that on Lunatic Mode, this Oni Chieftain will carry Certain Blow and Life and Death.

Captureable Enemies

  • On Lunatic Mode, some of the Falcon Knights may carry Pass. This is extremely useful for players wishing to complete Conquest's Endgame.
  • There is another Onmyoji on the map that has Shurikenbreaker, and is your last chance of getting another Shurikenbreaker Onmyoji in Conquest. Capturing him can be helpful to deal with the next chapter.
