A Hub Area is an explorable space accessible between battles. The first instance of such a hub to appear in the Fire Emblem series was My Castle in Fire Emblem Fates.

Overview[]

A hub area commonly serves as home base for the player's force, and is freely explorable in the shoes of the respective game's protagonist. While exploring a hub, the player may interact with their units and other characters, purchase weapons and items, and engage in a range of side-activities that vary between games.

My Castle[]

The first explorable hub to appear in the series, My Castle appears in all three routes of Fates. Located in the Astral Plane, it acts as a home base for the player's force. The layout and appearance of My Castle is customizable by the player.

Garreg Mach Monastery[]

The hub area of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Garreg Mach Monastery is fully explorable in 3D space with multiple structures consisting of two or more floors. Serving as the religious headquarters of the Church of Seiros, it is also home to the Officers Academy. Due to the game's structure, the vast majority of the unit recruitment opportunities are exclusive to actions taken within the monastery. With the addition of the Cindered Shadows DLC, Abyss acts as a second explorable zone situated underneath the monastery.

Base Camp[]

The hub area of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, the Base Camp functions similarly to Garreg Mach, but is a smaller-scale space. As the military headquarters of the player's chosen faction, the camp is established around a half-destroyed keep surrounded by tents and makeshift structures.

The Somniel[]

The hub area of Fire Emblem Engage, the Somniel is a floating castle given the protection of Divine Dragons. It serves as the resting place of Alear for a thousand years prior to the game's start. Sommie, a peaceful creature native to the Somniel, can be befriended and in return will provide optional boosts when playing any of the Somniel's minigames.
