Ifrid is a Fire magic spell that appears exclusively in TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga. When cast, this spell will call upon the infernal powers of an ifrit into battle, whereupon it will impale enemy units a 3x3 square area around the caster with a pair of scorching spears. As a result of possessing such a destructive nature, this spell may only be cast on even-numbered turns.

Etymology

Ifrid is probably an erroneous spelling of Ifrit, which are essentially supernatural creatures in Arabic and Islamic folklore. These enormous winged creatures of fire are classified under a certain category of infernal Jinn which are infamous for their strength and cunning, and are immune to physical attacks. Ironically enough, these creatures are susceptible to magic, which humans exploit in order to slay or enslave them.
