The Iron Poleax is an Axe that appears in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Fire Emblem Engage. While this axe and its other poleaxe counterparts appear to be the descendants of the Poleax weapon that manifests in earlier titles, they differ vastly in terms of the fact that while the latter is capable of inflicting effective damage against cavalry units, the former group of weapons carries no such ability. The Iron Poleaxe is defined by a set of technical stats that are similar to those boasted by the Steel Axe, although it is notably stronger, heavier, and less accurate. Despite not having as much of an accuracy drop from the regular steel weapon of its class as the Iron Blade does from the Steel Sword, the Iron Poleax still ranks third in accuracy amongst the three large iron weapons; however, it is most powerful of the three.
The Iron Poleax is analogous to the Iron Blade and the Iron Greatlance. It is also alluded to in Awakening as Titania's Axe, and in Fates as Camilla's Axe.
